In the Community
We're active volunteers
We're proud to support local and national youth, family and health programs, as well as educational and environmental causes.
Along with other Cox companies, we support many organizations in our hometown, Atlanta, through our United Way and EarthShare Georgia Employee Giving Campaigns. And, we're active participants in three annual events:
Bike MS: Cox Atlanta Ride: More than 1,400 riders and 400 volunteers participated in the 2008 ride to help create a world free of MS. Along with being the title sponsor, Cox had the largest team with 158 riders and raised more than $130,000.
Georgia Walk for Autism: More than 10,000 Georgia children are affected by autism. This event benefits both Autism Speaks and The Marcus Institute — organizations dedicated to supporting those living with the disease. In 2008, 154 Cox employees participated and raised more than $60,000.
Habitat for Humanity: For seven straight Saturdays in January, February and March 2008, more than 500 Atlanta-area Cox employees came out to build two Habitat homes for deserving families.
We support great causes through donations
In 2008, we sponsored a "Kudzu — Spread the Word" fundraising campaign that allowed site visitors to review local businesses and raise money for their favorite community organizations. Among the recipients were over 50 schools, clubs and non-profit groups.
This year we?re teaming with KaBOOM! to build safe local playgrounds across the country. Find out more and learn how you can help.
We care about the environment
Our parent company, Cox Enterprises, has a strong commitment to being a good corporate citizen and an environmental leader.
Through the Cox Conserves effort our goal is to further reduce our annual companywide carbon footprint by 20 percent by 2017. The effort also aims to inspire eco-friendly actions by our employees and in our communities; harness renewable forms of energy such as solar power; and conserve natural resources such as water.
