Hot Off the Vine

Places to Sit (or Faint) and Catch Your Breath

* I dropped my older daughter off with a friend the other day and had two hours before picking her up.  I found a spot in town with rocking chairs and curled up with my book, and thought for the four millionth time how nice it would be to build a porch on my house.  Maybe I’ll just start with a rocking chair.

* Speaking of great porches, get a load of this.  Maybe I’ll skip right past the rocking chair and go straight for the bed. This is from the HGTV Green Home 2009.

*  Okay, this may not be the most comfortable looking chair in the world, but it’s cool and clever, and there’s a place for that in life, isn’t there?  They are made from recycled street signs by Boris Bally, an American artist.  See more pictures of them on Design Milk.  See more colorful recycled Boris Bally street stuff here.

* Did the price of those chairs make you almost faint?  Well, then perhaps what you really need is a fainting couch.  I found this one on Apartment Therapy.  I love fainting couches.  In fact, I have a red one.  And, yes, I practically faint in it several times a week–usually when I open the bills.
