After calling several different companies for a regular A/C service last June, I decided on Reliable primarily due to cost and their competitive price for Freon (per lb). When scheduling the appointment the woman that I spoke to in their scheduling group assured me that cleaning of both the compressor outside and full evaporator coil inside was a part of their normal service, which was a huge plus for me, because the 6 other companies that I called said evaporator coil cleaning would cost extra.
I also asked if I could get a quote on installing a new filter box, and she assured me that the technician would come with all the necessary parts to quote and perform the job if I wanted during the maintenance.
The technician came on time and did a fine job of cleaning the outside compressor and testing the exterior electrical components, but did not clean the evaporator coil. When I let him know that I was told this was a part of the regular cleaning, he claimed he didnít know how to even do it, and that he had never done it before, so he wasnít going to make an attempt.
When I asked about getting a quote for the filter box, he claimed he didnít have any tools or parts to do the job. I told him that that the woman that had scheduled the appointment assured me that he would come with the necessary parts and equipment, but he didnít seem too concerned and just left.
