Dog & Cat Hospital

3 of 4 Incompetent and huge variation among Vets

Hallstrom was the best of the four, but they all missed my dogs bulging cervical disk, prescribed drugs without prescribing crate rest resulting in the disk rupture, paralysis and death of my beloved lab. It took six months and over $900 of unfocused testing to narrow the diagnosis, then snippy Dr. Marshall instead of compassion gave me a guilt trip for not taking her recommendation for surgery (est. $4000 with little chance of success). Marshall also dispensed expired drugs. Over six months, each vet there saw my dog but none read the file until 'the end" which was too late. But, the office is cute and clean.

Friendship Veterinary Hospital

Competent & Compassionate

I moved to Friendship after extraordinary expensive incompetence at another Norfolk Vet--with the resulting demise of my beloved Lab. Our new puppy was cryptorchid and his neutering surgery was complicated and long. Dr. Braun and staff provided two post op exams at no charge and did not charge for removing his stitches. The other vet would have charged for every "complication". Friendship helped me contain the cost of an abdominal neutering surgery. They gave me simple but effective healing suggestions in addition to required pharma treatments. Friendship made the best of a bad situation. I would highly recommend them.
