Ace Hardware

Poor customer service.

I've been trying to shop at this Ace for several years, as an alternative to the big box stores nearby, but I'm done. I've been left waiting at the check-out while the cashier wanders off to help the customer in front of me, only to witness a different employee make a bee-line for the back of the store when he saw me standing there, unattended. On another occasion, an employee made some borderline, innuendo-laden comments. The last time I went, the employee who assisted me did so grudgingly, without once making eye contact and sighing audibly multiple times. I will be going to the Home Depot on Lawrenceville Highway from now on- at least their employees are friendly.

For Pet's Sake

Great for rats

I really like this place, especially Dr. Hutcheson. I first discovered these guys when I had an elderly, ailing rat who had reached the end of her days and needed to be euthanized. The staff and doctor were compassionate and patient with me during an emotional experience- I was permitted to remain with my pet throughout the entire procedure, which was performed in the most humane way possible. Since then, I've brought a number of other rats for various ailments- including a spay, which looked great after the surgery (internal sutures and surgical glue) and healed up perfectly- and am always happy with the service I receive. Very knowledgable about rats in general, and they all seem to genuinely like the little critters (which is incredibly gratifying for any rat owner). It's a bit on the pricey side, but they don't charge for follow-up visits, which is nice, and I am happy to pay a little more for peace of mind.

High pressure, won't be back.

I don't wish to put this off on the clerk- I'm sure it is some kind of ridiculous store policy, and maybe not her fault, but..... I just want to give you my money, and leave the store, without having to give you my phone number, email, and social. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SAY "NO" FIVE TIMES!!! I will be taking my future business to Amazon.
