Nail Groove & Spa, Inc.

Not worth the Groupon

Groupon deal? Not so much! I passed 47 nail salons to reach this ordinary nail shop inside a Kroger shopping plaza. The salon was completely empty however the lady answering the phones says they are booked all day. The second employee got the massage room ready, which smelled a lot better then the rest of the salon. Gym funk mold covered in febreeze is the best way to describe it. Within the first 5 minutes of my massage the woman used her knuckles so hard on my neck that I actually left the salon with pain in my neck and shoulders. The lady yawned a dozen times and even fell asleep while standing/massaging at least twice! Her hands would just stop moving, then light snores followed for seconds before she wud jerk back awake. I skipped the manicure and wasn't too impressed with the chocolate pedicure. It was all just so-so. Definitely not worth the long drive from Duluth.

S&J Automotive, Inc

Saab Experts!

If you love your Saab, value your time and money, and need real expert advice, S&J Automotive is the best! My husband and I purchased a 2000 9-5 Saab last summer after owning nothing but American made vehicles. The first 6 months we had issue after issue only to find out it was the mechanic! He was great for the other cars we owned in the past, but his lack of knowledge about Saabs was literally KILLING my pockets. I finally got fed up with the old mechanic when we purchased a 2nd Saab (2001 9-3) and the engine blew within 2 days of purchase. Our regular guy had the newer Saab for 2 weeks and had one suggestion: Scrap It! We towed the car to S&J where Shelly and her family of experts took excellent care of BOTH cars. She gives clear cut advice, explains in details what can be done, and doesnt b.s. about prices. If she can save you money by telling you how to fix it yourself she surely will show you. I appreciate their honesty and wouldnt take my 2 Saabs any where else.

Harmony Natural Horsemanship

Get your money back... I DID!

I purchased a Travelzoo $29 coupon for $99 sunset horse ride with sangria. Within 24 hours I went to the website and scheduled an appointment according to the calender linked to the Harmony Natural Horsemanship website. The day of my horse ride I text the owner to confirm my appointment. A second text was sent 30 minutes later and a phone call again requesting confirmation. 40 minutes before my appointment a reply from the owner, "no confirmation, waiting on ferrier." I immediately replied with a picture of my conformation page from his website since I was already in route to the horse barn which was a good 2 hours drive. I arrived on time to the location which was locked and empty. No horses and no staff on site. I left the owner another voicemail and sent a text requesting compensation for the waste of gas and trip. I received a phone call 2 hours after my appointment apologizing for the "mix up" but that reply wasnt satisfactory. I have since requested a refund from Travelzoo.
