Uneven coaching, unfair to many kids
We've been with AYSA several years, and have had good coaches and teams. Sadly our current coach simply doesn't play the bottom five players on our team, including our child. The league's rules indicate that all kids should play for half the game, but the rule seems widely ignored. We find the league fosters a prima dona attitude among some players, and lots of discouragement for others. Maybe we'd feel different if the team was winning - but that's not the case. AYSA could be a great program, but our experience has been that there isn't enough emphasis on development for all the kids, nor are their great results to show for excluding the other players from game participation. My suggestion would be to consider other programs, as we ill next season.
