Frustrated and Disappointed
My irrigation pump was broken and I tried to schedule a time for David to come by and look at it. After a few weeks and several follow ups from me he finally dropped by but just to get the pump info which I could have sent to him via email weeks before.
Once he received the replacement part and told me he did not know when he would be able to come out to perform the work. He suggested that I try to fix my pump myself which I did.
The disappointing part is when he sent me a bill for "labor" and a very large mark up on the part. I had waited and waited, and then I did the work myself.
When I asked how he came to the amount for the labor charge on the invoice he said that he had charged me his time to drive to my house to get the information that I could have emailed to him. He charged me for driving over to drop off the part and going to the store to buy gasket gel, which I already had, and the best part is that he marked up the part and gasket gel $650%! I found the part online when I was having a hard time reaching him so I know exactly how much it cost. Even with the shipping fee David claimed was on the order the markup was still in 400-500% range…not to mention that I already had my own gasket gel.
I feel that I was overcharged and charged for “services” that were unnecessary and never discussed.
