Phoenix Roofing

Aggressive Owner

My initial opinion of Phoenix Roofing was very positive. I even wrote a review giving 5 stars. However, I must change my review given what followed after my roof was installed. I had explained to the owner that payment would come as soon as we received our insurance check. I was concerned, because his contract states that payment must be made within 10 days, and I knew that we wouldn't have our final insurance check until about 2 weeks after the work was completed. I had explained all this to Bill at Phoenix, and he assured me that this would not be a problem. 5 business days after the work was completed, I got a phone call asking for more money (an additional $2,000 above our contract). I tried to have a conversation with Bill about our contract, but he accused me of trying to commit insurance fraud (because he wanted to bill insurance for our coverage amount instead of his contracted amount) and threatened that he would: -assess late fees -file a mechanics lien -not file the necessary paperwork with insurance This situation has not been resolved as of yet (it's still the 5th business day/ 9th calendar day after completion), but I feel that it is extremely unprofessional to ask for additional funds after signing the contract and even more unprofessional to threaten us.

Chris Savage Lawn Care Incorporated

Above and Beyond

I'm not a customer of Chris's, but I have the great fortune to be neighbors with someone who is his customer. I am selling my house, and in the process of doing a few last-minute fix-ups, I managed to get my truck stuck in the mud in my yard. My dad was helping me, and we worked for hours trying to get out of that mud. Chris and his employee were life-savers. Chris noticed our predicament and asked if he could help. He pushed and eventually helped to tow my truck out of the mud. He even gave us pointers about fixing the damage and helped to rake the grass into looking less mutilated. What I know from my short interaction with this company is that its owner and employees have character and are willing to go above and beyond for others. If I were in a position to hire a lawn service, I would hire Chris Savage in a heartbeat.

3 days longer and twice as much

We had the speed sensors in my Altima replaced. When I first took my car in on Thursday, they told me to bring it back on Friday. After spending the whole day there on Friday, they said to bring it back Monday. In total, the car was at their shop for 3 full days, when they had originally said 1 day. They did not even call during that time. Every communication was from us to them. It would have stayed 1 more day had we not shown up before closing on day 3. When we arrived to pick up the car, they wanted to charge twice the original price, and when we talked them down to just $50 over the original price, they complained that we would get them in trouble with the boss. We won't be back.
