Northside Oral Surgery

Broken Jaw

I'm from Florida and attend Emory University in Atlanta so like many students I had an internship in Atlanta over the summer. Right around the middle of summer I found out I had to have my wisdom teeth removed. I simply went to the oral surgeon that the dentist I had visited suggested. Long story short AND I mean this is a long, long story. I ended up with a broken jaw and had to have my jaw wired shut for a month. Aside from being miserable, the most miserable part was not the pain and discomfort of my jaw. THE MOST MISERABLE PART WAS HAVING TO MEET WITH DR. WHITESIDES. Anytime I had to see him, it was too soon. The nurses and staff (aside from one impolite employee) are incredibly accommodating. Perhaps attempting to make up for Dr. Whitesides great ability to belittle you. He is rude, offensive, and lacks ANY sort of bed manners. Keeping in mind he broke MY jaw...he still managed to tell me I had bad breath (let's think about brushing our teeth with your jaw wired shut??) and tell me I could afford to lose a little weight (I'm a 21 year old in perfect health)...the list goes on. I suppose I should've sensed the vibes from him when I went in for my consultation and asked the costs of the procedure. I was was wearing an Emory shirt and his response to my inquiry was "Well you go to Emory so you shouldn't have any problem with the costs..." As a matter of fact, my entire tuition is paid for with financial aid. The word limit is up, otherwise I would go on...
