3G's: Honest Workmanship & Great Service

Mr. Sims and his son of 3 G's went above and beyond being 'average' contractors when it came to helping me complete several home projects, and I will definately hire them again in the near future. Sims wired an attic fan, replaced nail spikes with gutter screws in the gutter holes all around my house, and made sure that metal drip edge was placed over that gutter. Sims and company not only made things right by correcting unacceptable and substandard workmanship done by Cleo Bailey and his crew from Allstar Roof & Gutter company in Snellville, he went to bat for me with Bailey. This happened during a recently messed-up re-roofing experience I endured with 'Allstar.' The Sims' 3 G's family gets my vote because they not only understand what customer's need, the show it by putting in an honest day's work for a fair price. Thanks again, 3 G's!

Home Energy Insulation

Great Service from Home Energy!

When I called Phil Wheeler of Home Energy, Inc., I was about to hire Woodman Insulation to blow insulation into my attic from the roof, while my roof was being re-roofed. But a spokeswoman for Woodman (a company on Georgia Power's BPI Home Improvement certified list), told me I needed to contact GA Power myself, to find out what upgrades qualified for GP's Earth Cents rebate program. Then I called Mr. Wheeler of Home Energy and explained that my roofing project was about to begin, and I needed to hire an insulation company to work alongside my roofers. The next day, Phil sent his salesman Eric to my home to look it over, and discuss various insulation and price options. Eric also promised to help me get my GA Power rebate(s). The day the re-roofing project began, Eric and his team arrived at 10:00 a.m., as promised. They got right to work and set up, put baffles in the soffit vents, blew in fiberglass insulation from the roof down, insulated the attic stairs, electrical outlets, and blanketed my water heater; all within 3 hours! Before he took my check, Eric helped me fill out the GP rebate paperwork for a $350 rebate. A day later, I received a thank you letter from Phil, including 3 free 'recheck insulation' coupons I will use to ask HE to return and check my insulation at years 1, 5 and 10. I totally recommend Home Energy, Inc. for professional, efficient service at a great price. I only wish HE had done my re-roofing job - but that's another story.

ALLSTAR ROOFING & EXTERIORS

Posted on: 9/16/2012

aka Allstar Roof and Gutter; Dishonest-Stay Away!

I thought Cleo Bailey of Allstar was an honest guy, and my main and porch re-roofing projects were a good price. So wrong!! 5 subcontractors tried to cut corners and foreman Santiago was gone 4.5 hrs the first day, hunting an Atlanta dump site (I live in Smyrna), while his workers lazed or did fast, shoddy work. No pre-planning was evident as Bailey and/or Santiago made many trips to Home Depot for more supplies just to re-roof my simple, ranch-style home with a low-slant roof, and redo a porch roof. 'Communication' meant verbal and written promises to me, then a 180 shift with zero follow-through. During the 2nd day of roofing, I hired a separate pro, (Erik Sims of 3-G's), to correct mistakes 'Allstar' was originally contracted to do; fix several spots where the drip edge was not over the gutter, attach all new gutter screws, and wire the attic fan. Sims also found spongy decking where shingles were about to go down, and last by not least, he overheard Santiago's four, unsupervised Spanish crew demean my character, and called them on it. Mr. Sims, thanks for finding the poor workmanship and defending my reputation before Allstar's 'work' was done, so both roofs and gutters look decent. Hire 'Allstar' if you are interested in losing sleep wondering what else they might have done wrong! PS: This company probably has several aliases due to poor reviews and pending small claims actions mentioned by others. The altered name fooled me into hiring them before finding bad feedback!
