Expensive, poor time management

Pricey: the tech suggested I have a dozen outlets replaced and wanted $65/per to do it. An outlet is two bucks and change at Home Depot. That's a pretty hefty markup though he told me I was getting a discount for volume. Needless to say, I didn't let him do it....... Time: the tech was pretty slow. On the first visit, I told him when I needed to leave. I had to PUSH to get him out-- three hours later...and he didn't even do the major repair, that was just for his diagnosis. At one point he disappeared into his van for "15 minutes." 45 minutes later, I used his email to say "Ya ready?"...... When he came to do the actual repair, I asked him to do some other things that he didn't get to. Ok, I added to his visit, that's fine, can't blame him for that. He said he'd come back today.......P.S. No show. No call either....... Now I wonder whether I needed the big repair he suggested in the first place. Feel a little taken. Then again, maybe they're no different than the rest?!

Safety Concerns

Howard did some work in my house a couple of times. He's a very nice man. I felt like he was pricey so when I recently had an issue, I called someone else. Come to find out that Howard ran a wire from one outlet into a crawl space for an outlet I asked for using "#12" cable, without a GFCI, and without hanging the wire. Not hanging the wire is one thing, but running it off of a plug and forcing the wire back into the housing is another. Highly disappointed, felt I'd been getting better, SAFER, service than that.
