Well, it took 132 days (4 1/2 months) since the contract was signed but the Windows from Hell have finally been installed. This actually started before that during the proposal interviews when several things represented turned out to be simply not true. Greg at MFW represented that if I found any negative comments on Kudzu the windows would be Free. I found 4 and of course he didn't honor that representation. He also said that he would match any competitors price which he didn't. 7 of my 24 windows have a wood tone finish. He represented that these would be a wood laminate when in fact it is contact paper.
The 24 windows were to be installed over a 2 day period. I discovered that 3 windows came in the wrong size. There needs to be some quality assurance procedures put in place so that discrepancies are discovered by the Company rather than the Customer. This resulted in a 4 week delay in reordering and installation. There were 4 manufacturing errors, 3 of which should have been noticed by the installers. The 4th involved a reordering, yet another 4 week delay. 1 warranty claim was rectified.
One of the most disturbing things was that MFW charged my Credit Card for the full amount before the job was completed, without my knowledge or authorization. I don't know how that was even possible but I guess I should cancel that Credit Card as I don't want any future unauthorized charges on it.
