A Great Company
Our hardwood floor was cupping (warping)near the back door so we called our flooring company and they recommended Team Terra. Turns out the sub floor had undergone extensive water damage via a rotted threshold. The guys at Team Terra were extremely thorough. They called 2 other associates who arrived within 30 minutes and all 4 of them went to great lengths to find the root cause of the water damage. They climbed on the roof, inspected the flashing and gutters, even took their water hose up on my roof to determine how the water flowed. They found several problems and fixed them on the spot. They clearly explained everything to me and asked how I wanted to proceed. Then they went about tearing up my kitchen and hall floors, setting up professional drying equipment, and ultimately replacing and repairing the subfloor and hardwoods. They did a beautiful job. Meanwhile, by the time my insurance company sent an adjuster to my house, we were already out of town on a long-planned vacation. Team Terra met with the adjuster in my home, showed her their comprehensive data, moisture readings and digital photos they had collected, and got the claim approved on our behalf. They had the repairs finished by the time we returned - and even brought in our mail while we were away. The name is true, they really do work as a Team, showing each other respect and collaborating on solutions. This includes their interaction with customers as well.
Exceeded our Expectations
We recently purchased a house and are completing several large renovations. We started with the hardwood floors, which are Brazilian Cherry. We were told by other floor refinishers that there was no way to minimize or eliminate the redness, no matter what we did to the floors. Eli thought he could just about eliminate the redness if we were willing to go with a darker stain (which was what we wanted anyway). We were unsure about how the result would turn out. So Eli took samples of Brazilian Cherry flooring that he had in his shop and tested some different stains on the wood. When he got the color I had described to him, he brought the sample back over to my house. We loved the color and asked him to refinish the whole downstairs area. The three associates who did the work were just wonderful people - very professional and really personable. They called and left me several messages over the two days, just updating me on what stage they were in and when I could walk on the floor, etc. When they finished, they explained everything about how I should care for the floors. The floors are breathtaking. Even the other contractors who have come in my house stop and look at the floors and rave about how beautiful they are. We are so greatful to Eli, Ben, Elliot, Glen and Edmundo for going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable with the process and pleased with the results!
Wouldn't buy without calling them
Eugene Duffy just completed an inspection on the house we're buying. It's the third inspection he's done for us over the last 10 years. His work is truly world class and he has saved us thousands of dollars. He is so thorough and professional and found things that no one else would have. He also did air quality testing for allergies, etc. We definitely would not buy a property without having him look at it first.
Repair and Cleaning
The positive reviews are right on. I called them after a water leak soaked an area of carpet in one of my rental properties. Jason and (Patrick?) came out to assess the damage, pulled up the carpet, cut out the padding, and advised me on how to thoroughly dry the concrete slab. Jason came back out the next day and replaced the padding, cleaned the carpet, and tacked/tucked it back into place. He even cleaned the carpet everywhere he had walked throughout the house! My tenants are still raving about what a nice job they did and how professional they were.
I have to agree that Dr. Read is condescending and somewhat pompous. He was my doctor for a couple of years and things went from marginal to bad. The last straw was when he refused to refer me for a colonoscopy even though one of my parents died from colon cancer. When I saw a different primary care physician, that doctor immediately sent me for the test.
Stacey came out to replace both incoming water lines (from the street) for my duplex. He was professional and personable. He and Jason didn't get started until around 6 pm because it rained hard all day. They didn't leave until the water was back on, working until after 9 pm with flashlights and covered in mud. Stacey came back early the next morning to clean up my yard, replace my shrubs, etc. The cost was exactly what he quoted me and was the least of three estimates. I'll definitely call them the next time I need a plumber.
I've been going to Dr. Hans Wakeman for about 8 years now and he is truly a master at total wellness. Not only is he fantastic at diagnosing problems and making chiropractic adjustments, but he also uses muscle testing and herbal/nutritional therapy to treat general health problems. Since I've been seeing him I've gone from 5 or 6 medical doctor visits per year to less than 1 per year. He and his staff are wonderful, caring people.
I thought all these reviews on Metro Heating & Air were too good to be true...so I decided to call them out to fix a problem. Another company had made several trips to repair the unit, but could not. They just tried to sell me new parts (at hundreds of dollars). Steve walked into my house, played with my dog for a minute, walked over and opened the thermostat and within 5 minutes, diagnosed the problem. It took him about 10 more minutes to fix the problem. Don't even bother calling anyone else to fix your air conditioning. I never will.
While the quality of the windows and window installation was excellent, the quality and service on siding was very poor. The crews they sent out to work on my house did not speak any English and the bilingual supervisor was tough to communicate with. The crews would come out and work for a couple of days and then would disappear for a week. The workers used profanity in Portuguese (which my neighbor heard and understood). My calls and e-mails to the office were not returned and the only way I could get them to complete the job was to hold back part of the payment. Over a year after they started the project, the office called to ask about the last payment. That was how I got them to come out and finish the job.
