Excellent experience so far...

I recently began bringing my Mercedes to this shop after a couple of years of mixed experiences at a certain intown dealership. I suppose I was one of those who believed that the car should go to the dealer while in warranty...an expensive myth. I researched independent shops and discovered Revolution was just 10 minutes from my home. I doubt I'll ever return to a dealership. They've done a couple of routine repairs for me at a very fair price -- and they also helped solve a problem that the dealership, in its rush to do the costliest "full replacement" every time, misdiagnosed! I was especially impressed that Revolution was willing to install a hard-to-find, salvaged part that I supplied -- without trying to cover the parts mark-up someplace else in the bill. No shop wants to routinely install parts a customer brings in, but because of some extenuating factors, they did it. The service manager, Will, is extremely helpful, even responding to email questions outside work hours! The prices are significantly better than any dealership. These guys are down to earth and seem genuinely interested in these vehicles and providing fair and honest service... I will definitely continue to bring my car here.

Teran Tree Experts Inc.

Did a great job at great price

We had a complicated job of removing 7 trees, each about 40 feet tall, that were close together between our house and a neighbor's house. Teran did the job efficiently but carefully; no damage to lawns, gutters, or anything else, which was one of our concerns. We also had some pruning in our backyard. These guys did a a lot in one day, did a great job, the price was very reasonable and better than other bids, and best of all, they did a very good cleanup. By the time they finished sawing, grinding, chipping, blowing debris in piles, sweeping, and hauling everything away, the grounds looked great. No mess to clean up. Excellent job.

Best mechanic in the area for routine work...

I have been in the area for 10 years and tried a number of mechanics in the Decatur area. This place is now my default option for most repairs on any vehicle I have that isn't still covered under a new car warranty. They are a fairly small shop and probably wouldn't be the choice for highly specialized work or major jobs (like rebuilding an engine) but they are excellent for small to medium repair jobs and routine maintenance. The main thing that sets them apart is that they actually seem to be honest -- something very hard to find these days. I have never felt that I was being scammed when receiving an estimate. They tell you exactly what's wrong and what needs to be done. I have brought my car to this shop for a variety of tasks over the years (installing a special oil plug, alternator, brakes, master cylinder replacement) and have been satisfied each time...no problems and no lingering feeling that I might have been ripped off. The prices are reasonable - neither cheap nor expensive - but I would rather pay a fair price for an honest mechanic. Note to management: PLEASE keep up the good, honest work that I've experienced in my dealings with your shop...you'll ALWAYS have business that way (if you stop, you'll become like the many other auto shops that no one trusts and which soon goes under.)

Chrispizza House

Yuck. Obviously Chris wasn't Italian...

If you have had and enjoy actual Italian food and good pizza, you will find this place to be a joke. Can you say: Chef Boy-ar-dee? Soggy, overcooked pasta. Bland sauces. Awful. This is obviously Italian food by and for old, Southern folks who've never left the neighborhood. The only possibly good thing about this place is that it's cheap -- but there are plenty of inexpensive but good pizza places around town.

Affordable Advantage Home Repair

Excellent work

We've used Affordable Advantage Home Repair for several jobs over the last six months and have been extremely pleased with their work. The jobs they've done for us include: fixing a couple of wiring problems, repairing a plumbing leak, replacing bath/shower valves, and building a screened enclosure for our porch. We have never had to call them back due to a problem with any of these repairs or enhancements to our home. They give you the straight story on what needs to be done, what the options are, and what the costs are likely to be. While they aren't cheap, the pricing is fair and we haven't had any "surprises" when we've received invoices. Personally, I would rather pay a fair price for reliable, quality work than maybe save 10% or 15%by using a "bargain basement" company that cuts corners or lies to customers. It's also convenient that you can send Phillip a description of your problem with some photos, via email, and you'll get a reply within a couple of days with his recommendations. Overall, Affordable Advantage is an excellent choice for a wide range of home repair jobs.
