A Quick Emergency Glass

job done, but problems

They were prompt. Came out to inspect the window and provide an estimate the day I called. Estimate seemed a bit steep, but not crazy. Said they could do it the next day and I said I'd be home at 4:30. I get voicemail the next day at 11AM saying they are on their way. When I call to clarify I don't get a call back. We play phone tag the following day and two guys come to replace the window. Second floor, I inspect from the inside, and it looks fine. The next morning I discover that the tempered glass had broken in a thousand pieces, fallen to the ground outside, and scattered everywhere, and the guys left it all, along with scrap weather stripping. It fell right where the ladder was, so they had to have seen it. Very sloppy and unprofessional. A call to complain got merely a "we'll make sure that doesn't happen again." Meanwhile, I'm picking up glass fragments out of the pine straw for an hour.

Walter Ray Davis Jr DDS

Friendly, but missed two big cavities

I hate to write this review, because I like Dr Davis and his staff. It's a very child-friendly environment and we've taken our two kids to him for at least five years now. A couple of years ago, Dr Davis missed a pretty big cavity in my daughter, even though we pointed out the suspect spot. He said there was no cavity, but when it kept getting worse and we brought her back, he did then say it was a cavity and filled it. We stuck with him, but just recently he missed a large cavity in my son's mouth. I took him to a new dentist who was quite surprised that it could have been missed. We're now not sure if the tooth can be saved. Dr Davis seems to be a kind, gentle old dentist who is past his prime. I wish no ill will, but I do want to warn parents based on my experience.

Excellent service

We had a simple problem but it had the electricity off in our kitchen. Called Saturday AM, got owner on phone, he and an assistant were at my house by 1:30. Solved problem quickly and left no mess. What more can you ask?

Tim the Handyman

Keep Tim on Speed-dial

I've used Tim (and Raul) on three jobs now. He's fair, reasonable, courteous, never pushy or trying to sell a bill of goods. Most recently I had a basement door that had fallen apart at the bottom due to water rot. I thought the door needed replacement, but he took it to his shop and returned it that day repaired and hung. I put a fresh coat of paint and it looks and fits much better than before. Highly recommended.

Prompt, curteous, fixed it!

I called first thing in the morning, left a message, and got a call back within the hour. Herman came that afternoon to fix my dishwasher. He fixed it and stayed to run about 15 minutes of the cycle to make sure he got it right. Very nice guy. Highly recommended.

Metro saved me big bucks

I got a diagnosis for an $800 repair on my old heatpump. Well it's old anyway, so go just replace it, I was told. Made sense. So I was collecting bids to replace the whole shebang. First off, the bids varied widely, so be sure to get several before you buy. But then Steve with Metro came, my last bid, and before giving me an estimate on replacing, he said he wanted to take a look and check behind the other guy's work. Turns out the diagnosis was a complete crock. My wiring was mess, so after fiddling a while, Steve found I had blown fuse. That's it! A blown stinkin' fuse and I was about shell out thousands. I know I'll need to buy the new unit before too long, but I can wait. Nice guy, too. Thanks, Steve.
