Paint Etc.

Posted on: 12/26/2007

I'm not sure what to think about this company.

My 1st experience with them was when they installed hardwood floors in my house. They did a 1st rate and completely wonderful job and I was very impressed with it. I had them come back and do carpet and unfortunately that experience was not nearly as good as the first. They under-estimated the carpet they needed to finish the job on the stairs. When they returned they installed a completely different color carpet on half of the stairs...that's right, one half in one color and the other half in another tint alltogether. They also left a few pretty significant gaps between the carpet and the bottom of the baseboard trim in one room. They did come back in a few days and fixed these 2 problems though. Another issue I had with them was they were pretty rough on the baseboard trim paint in one room and refused to touch that up even though they did the damage and I had the exact match paint there for them. Their positition was that wall and trim paint getting a little scuffed up is common during carpet install and they decline to repair that even when they cause it. Seems kind of ironic considering their company name and that painting is their specialty. If my experience was only the hardwaood floor install I would have given them 5 stars. If it had only been the carpet install no more than 2. I have no idea what kind of job they do on painting but given the many positive responses here I have to believe they should consider sticking to hardwood flooring and painting.

next day junk removal

Not dependable, not reputable

Paid for a week but at a higher rate than what they quoted me over the phone. I really needed the unit and the price was still reasonable so I said ok. Then they came and hauled away the roll off away a day early without ever trying to call me. Tried to get them to bring it back for another week which they agreed to do and at a discounted rate. Unfortunatly they never arrived on 3 separate occasions when they said they would with the new dumpster. After that I'd had enough and went with a different company which treated me very well. My advice is to steer clear of these guys.

Andrews & Crockett , Inc.

Andrews and Crockett did a great job for us too.

After getting estimates and checking references from 9 different contractors over a 3 month period, I decided on Andrews and Crockett and I'm very glad that I did. I had them do a number of different things as part of our moderately scoped interior remodel project. We had them do tile flooring, woodflooring (incl. subflooring removal), kitchen lighting, master bath lighting and fan, and a good deal of difficult wallpaper removal. We had some pretty tight timelines and a tight budget. Everything was done just as Scott said it would be and the total job came out even better than I had hoped. Everything is just beautiful. Scott was great to work with and very responsive throughout the entire process and continues to be even after the job is complete. All of his crews did a great job and I highly recommend them! Scott, I'm still seriously considering that basement part of the project.

Xterior Solutions

Tom was a pleasure to work with and both he and his crew did a great job installing Hardi-Plank and repairing/painting a lot of exterior window/door frames. He was also nice enough to share his contacts for some of his contractors for additional off-project work I wanted to do at a later date.
