Great ceiling fan install

Don was very patient and helpful with a ceiling fan installation that ended up lasting a few hours, because of our old house's bad wiring and weird construction. His Sheetrock patch was perfect and he cleaned up after himself better than any service person we've ever had. We've already got him scheduled for more ceiling fan installs and hope to use him for more projects!

East Cobb's Best Remodeling

Nice basement remodel

Tom and his crew did a great job remodeling a big basement room and bathroom. This was not a big fancy remodel - new floor, some plumbing and electrical, moving pipes into the ceiling so we could get rid of old dropdown acoustical tile - and they were very good about working with me to keep costs down. I would hire them again in a second. (In fact I'm getting ready to call them about fixing up our kitchen!)

Nice work on staircase

Robert renovated our old 1960s staircase. He brought it up to code, added some trim and a handrail, and replaced the old wood banisters with new iron ones. Everything looks fantastic and is very sturdy. He showed up when he said he would, did a great job and gave us excellent value for our money. We hope to hire him again very soon!

frozen pipes fixed quickly

Ken Bennett showed up quickly to fix a broken/frozen pipe in our laundry room. He did a great job. He also helped us get to the root of the problem that made the pipe freeze in the first place (HVAC issue), and gave us some advice on an unrelated tub problem. He is pleasant and professional.

Golds Gym

Nice folks, good workout, good value

I've been a member of a few Gold's Gyms in a couple states and always had a good experience. This is a smaller gym, and the hours are not great (maybe not everyone gets the urge to work out at 2 AM!). But I think each gym reflects its area, and Alpharetta doesn't strike me as a place where working out at a gym is really popular. That said, the people here could not be nicer. The manager always remembers my name. The cardio equipment is in good shape 95% of the time (that kind of machine tends to break down no matter who owns it). They have a good range of free weights and weight machines. The people who work out there are a wide range, all ages and shapes. Overall I've been really pleased with the place.

The Pointe at Preston Ridge

Nice place, good value

We moved here last summer and chose Sterling Woods for a month-to-month rental while we looked for a house. It's not the newest/shiniest apartment complex, but the location is very convenient to 400 and shopping and a lot of corporate offices. We can walk to the Alpharetta hike/bike trail and the YMCA in about 2 minutes. The apartment itself is pretty average, but everything works fine. The nice thing about older complexes is that they usually have better construction and soundproofing. I can hardly hear my neighbors at all (we are on bottom floor and only share a ceiling with another apartment's floor). We're paying $990/month for a 3-bed 2-bath, about 1300 square feet. It would be $100 less per month if we had signed a longer-term lease. I've always found the rental agents to be nice and competent, no hassles. The maintenance guys (generally) know what they're doing and are quick to respond to problems. The neighbors - can't say I know any of them well, but they all seem like nice folks. The complex has its fair share of rowdy kids, but seriously, any complex that allows children has the same problem. Seems to be a good mix of age groups here, singles and families. The complex was recently sold and is now The Pointe at Preston Ridge; new owners are doing a lot of renovating and upgrades. Overall, I would recommend this place for value and location.
