A Trusted Expert

I think William Allen of Southeastern Stair Company is nothing short of a miracle worker. He is an expert craftsman when it comes to stairs and carpentry. He created such a transformation that we hired him again to redesign our back stairs, even though we didn’t need them re-done. Our stairs look like they belong in a million dollar home. We allowed our hardwood floor contractor to install our front stairs and were built to be unsafe. I had called another stair company, but they would only quote me over the phone. William answered my call promptly, showed up to my house on time, gave me a quote that was amazing and better than I thought it would be. He gave me a catalog in which to pick out the type of balusters, rails, newels, and type of wood. This is a big deal when refinishing stairs. My stairs are sturdier and beautiful. The quality of the work was excellent and comes with a 3-year warranty. William is honest, professional, a hard worker and meticulous. He made sure that the area was clean before he left each day. After William completed our back stairs, I asked him if he could install a new set of attic stairs and replace my rotted back door and doorjamb. He was able to do those things and the quote he gave me was so much better than a handyman’s. The most comforting feeling is knowing that the stairs are rock solid and well made.

Looks Brand New

I received an immediate response and a quote from Candace. She is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. We renovated the bathroom and the subflooring was rotted, so we had to move the tub which had a crack in it. We weren't sure whether to replace it or resurface it. After pricing cast iron tubs, the route to go was resurfacing. A crew member showed up on time, got right to work, and resurfaced the tub in no time. It looks brand new and you would never know there had been a crack. He did a wonderful job caulking around the edges. He also tried brightening our other white tub. It was a pleasure to work with a company that takes pride in their work.

Beautiful Job!

Perfection. I got quotes from 3 different glass companies for our master shower walls and doors. Parker & Sons were the only ones to volunteer to come out and get an exact measurement for their quote. I was given the option to upgrade the glass and the price was ¼ the price that another company quoted me. Jeff and Kenny were really great to work with. The frameless shower enclosure makes my shower area look a lot bigger. Parker & Sons was a great company to work with.

Great selection

I went to many granite showrooms, but found Stone Unlimited to have the best choices, and the best prices. No bait and switch like another company I went to. They had a very nice selection of granite. Rachel at Stone Unlimited was very patient with us because we had such a hard time making a choice. The installation actually came in earlier than we expected and they did a great job. We are very pleased.

Top Notch

I had received a previous quote from a nationally known closet company and the service and quote were so bad, I was a bit gun-shy to call another company. I decided to give Atlanta Closet and Storage a chance. I left a message and quickly received a call back to arrange an appointment for measurements. Clay showed up on time, and prepared. He listened to my needs and showed me samples of different wood and pole finishes. Within a couple of days, I received via email, a well-drawn out plan that suited my needs. I couple of times I made a few changes and Clay was always patient. He would draft the new changes and email them to me immediately. David came by for the closet installation and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Everything is absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. From start to finish, Clay and David were friendly and professional. I have a closet that was custom made for me for a wonderful price.

Master Craftsman

Tim Hibler is a master craftsman at his job. We hired him to tile our master bathroom floor, shower and tub area, walk-in closet, and install heated radiant flooring. Tim also tiled our hall and guest bath floors. After finding subfloor rot, we decided to have Tim re-do all of our shower/tub walls in 3 bathrooms. He was nice enough to make time to do all of the extra work. We wanted to keep our garden tub, but didn’t know how to make it look like it fit in with the rest of the bathroom. Tim came up with a great idea to install tile on the tub enclosure. We love it. Outside of his craft, Tim’s qualities were communication and promptness. He was at my house early every morning, never late. He is a super nice person and answered multiple questions and communicated with me every day. It was nice to be able know exactly what was going on. When the time comes, we plan to have Tim come back and re-face our fireplace. When we had our granite countertops put in, the installer (who also installs tile) said that Tim’s work was the best he had ever seen. That speaks volumes about the quality of Tim’s work.

Landscaping and Lawn Maintenance Company

I used to use Taurus, in fact I used to rave about them, then they started slipping up. I would make appointments and David would be a no show. I had gotten a quote and then he mailed me another one that was significantly higher. They brought back Chris which helped but by then, I didn't want to work with them.

Better Than The Others

I contacted Robert of Starbrite Windows and he was very prompt about answering the phone and scheduling me for a quote. Robert showed up early and my intention was just to get a quote to have our windows done. It was so good, I kept adding to the list. I ended up getting a quote to have 55 windows and 10 transoms washed, inside and out, pressure spray our front step, my kids’ play set, and an old English phonebox, and unstick 40 windows that were painted shut a couple of years ago. The price was still cheaper than the other company I had previously used for window cleaning only (a very popular company with a lot of reviews on Angie’s List.) Not only was Starbrite less expensive, the crew was much better, and the quality of work was much better. My landscaper actually said he thought I replaced my windows with news ones because they looked so bright and clean. The crew, Keith and Brandon were very quiet and diligent. Keith was extremely courteous when I had questions, and Brandon was very, very thorough and conscientious of every little smudge. I love this company and hope to use them again soon.

Save Your Lawn - Do not hire

I used Jungle Jim's Landscape business for about 4 1/2 years. They have changed their name to Silver Oaks. I kept giving them chances, but I finally had to fire them. They ruined my lawn by putting deep ruts into it. I had to continually tell the guys what to do because they would skip aspects of the maintenance service. I asked them to plant 3 bushes while on vacation and came back to find they had chopped up my phone line. You are supposed to call before you dig but he didn't. It was obvious by the 12 pieces of cable they cut laying all over the ground. Then he became defensive telling me it wasn't his problem. After I fired them, they billed my credit card anyway. Bob Diamond (the owner) wouldn't return my phones so I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and had to file a complaint with my credit card company to get my money back. If you value your yard, don't bother hiring.

Extremely Professional

Thank goodness for Kevin Murphy. He fixed cracks within a retaining wall , a stairway crack over the garage and window, a loose brick within a archway, re-mortared our walkway, and fixed our mailbox. When he and his crew arrived, they spotted 2 other areas (that an inspector and I missed) that needed attention and added them to the list without adding to the quote. He also patched up our mailbox that had loose bricks. Kevin was also able to help me with a small project (not brick related) when another contractor pulled a no-show. Kevin’s work was top notch and I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again or recommend him to others. He was by far the most professional of any contractor I've ever worked with.
