I took may cat to GVS due to a 2nd torn ACL. You have to remember this is a business first....this is a busy practice. I'll preface this by saying the first time she tore her left ACL, I took her to the Cobb Veterinary Referral practice and I was not pleased in the least. Everyone at GVS, from the minute I made an initial appointment to the time I picked my cat up after surgery, were very professional and compassionate. Dr. Winkler was absolutely fabulous. He was very down to earth and explained the surgery very clearly (not like when I went to the other vet practice for the other knee). I was thoroughly impressed. They weren't cheap, but this is a business and the vets spent a lot of time and $$ going to vet school to help our furry family members. The price was not a surprise, since it was about the same as the previous (and less than impressive) place she had surgery. Yes we had to put down a deposit, but do you know how many people dump their pets at vet practices???? I can't blame them for charging a deposit. My cat is doing very well after surgery - they got her into surgery within 2 days of my initial appointment, which was a blessing to me. If you are hesitant about GVS, don't be - they do excellent work - my opinion. They are busy but they kept me in the loop the whole time - Dr. Winkler called twice and I left with very detailed post-op instructions. He is very nice and professional. Great experience. I highly recommend GVS.
