Engineered Solutions of Georgia

Honest and Professional

I had a leak in my basement but couldn't find a source of the water. I called engineered solutions to help. Alan came and thoroughly evaluated the basement and area outside of the house. He suspected a dripping faucet outside or a problem with the water main and recommended a plumber to evaluate things first. If plumbing sources were ruled out, then he said he would come back to discuss waterproofing solutions. The plumber discovered a cracked water main behind the sheetrock as the water line entered the basement foundation wall, which was spraying water on the foundation wall and running down to the floor, underneath the baseboard, soaking the carpet. Alan could have just offered pricey basement waterproofing options, but instead found the cause of the problem. A few days earlier, Trotter Waterproofing came out to evaluate the same problem and assumed the water was coming from poor drainage or ground water. Their only offer was a $20,000 external waterproofing or a $5-6000 internal sump pump/drainage system without even searching for a source of the water. I appreciate Engineered Solutions honesty. I will use them again without reservation and would recommend them without hesitation!

Retracting Poor Review

I made an error in my earlier review. I initially posted that an estimate had never been sent after 3 weeks. I immediately received a call after posting my negative review on Kudzu, and learned that the estimate had been sent within a day or two of the estimators visit via email. The email was filtered to my spam folder (still unclear why my email server did that), so I never saw it. I do apologize to Boutee for the initial negative review (fortunately it was only up for a few hours before writing this retraction). That being said, they might not have lost my business this time if only someone would have followed up with a phone call after receiving no response from me via email. This is why I gave only 2 stars for service. I don't know of their quality or value since they never did work for me, but kudzu requires ratings, so i give them what most others have (out of fairness).

Got Carpets?LLC

Poor Communication

I chose Got Carpets because of it's high overall reviews on Kudzu. My basement flooded and two rooms needed partial carpet treatment for flooding. I was surprised at the over $1000 estimate, but agreed due to the high demand at the time (recent freeze and burst pipes all over town). Included was a $125 furniture moving fee. The techs that arrived only moved part of a couch (with my help). No furniture was replaced because the carpet had to be reinstalled (they do not reinstall carpets). I called to have the furniture fee refunded, spoke with a manager who ensured me that the problem would be fixed. The tech who did the job called me back and told me that the fee was a flat fee, regardless of how much furniture is moved. Period. She insisted that they moved more furniture than they actually did and refused to budge on the fee. While the actual job they did on the carpets was satisfactory, I felt taken advantage of and treated poorly by a gruff and unconcerned tech (who happens to be the owner of the business).

Details of GA License under Probation

According to GA Board of denistry, Dr Reilly employed a Brazilian dentist (in what capacity, not known), not licensed in GA, who prepared a bridge for his own teeth. Since she was under his employ, he was charged with aiding and abetting unlicensed practice. The employee practiced dentistry on Dr. Reilly, not other patients.
