Home Warranty Mess

I recently purchased a house that came with a HSA home warranty. My HVAC evaporator coil was leaking and HSA was forcing me to use their contractor (SSI). SSI knew I was captive so they added on a bunch of bogus charges and were nasty to deal with. Thankfully I was referred by a distributor to Comfort Control. They gave me a fix price on the phone and used high quality parts. It did not cost me much more than all the bogus charges SSI was quoting. CCI were fast, informative, friendly, neat and a pleasure to work with. I was very impressed and I am now very cool!

If I had an employee with the attitude of the lady at SSI the first thing I would do is fire her. She is one of the worst costomer facing people I have ever delt with. Just talking with her you feel like you are being scammed by her and she is bad at it. What an awful person. The field tech was very nice and personable. Being the only service provider for HSA is likely the only way they get business. My advise is to stay away from this company and pay out of pocket. You will likely save in the long run. A poor rating is to good for them.

The Price is High (not Right)

When I checked around for the price on a crown, their price is fairly high at nearly $1000, and our co-pay is $580, where as the full price my Mom paid to her dentist for her crown is only $650 without any insurance. Although we save $70 over going to the dentist that had a better price but did not accept our insurance, we felt slightly ripped off. My friend who works for a dentist said the standard medicare price for a crown is $550. Also the hygenist always complains about how dirty my teeth are and tries to sell me more service or tooth brush and mouth wash. Of course I go to the dentist because my teeth are dirty and I want them cleaned. If they were clean, I would not need to go see them. So I don't see their point of emphazing my dirty teeth, except to rake up the bills with miscellanous. And they did this with my husband too. Before we have this new insurance that we have to go to Imagix, we both went to Dent 1st and it was always easy, no complaints, no extra charges. I should mention also, appointments are hard to get. Every time we had to change our appointment, we got moved back another month. We just put up with them because they are the only 1 in the area that accepts our insurance.
