Very satisfied customers
We’re in a historic home with 8 fireplaces, 4 per chimney. We got several quotes. All recommended relining, although we were skeptical because the masonry looked good to us.
Two recommended steel liners which were cheaper than MH’s "guardian" system. They pour a type of cement around inflatable rubber tubes to form flues, and strengthen the chimney. For the small price difference, we liked the idea. Chimneys also had to be built much taller.
We worked with Fred Reedy. He was very scientific about his analysis and recommendations. He answered any question with confidence and no fluff/BS. We hired them. The crew was very courteous, punctual, and cleaned up after themselves every day. They kept the house pretty dust free. They worked weekends when they got behind schedule. We had one issue where they built about 4 feet of one chimney incorrectly. I pointed this out and they happily tore the 4 feet off and built it back correctly, no questions. They did good quality work all the way around. Fred checked in regularly and took any concerns we had very seriously.
During the process, we retrieved a piece of CHARRED wood from inside the wall! That is what made it all worth it. Other reviewers said they were told they needed liners when they didn't, but we definitely did and we have the proof.
Overall we were very happy with the job they did. Wasn't cheap, but it was a very very big job.
