Fair service, God Awful Food
I was really looking forward to our visit to Cafe Alsace based on reviews found here and in Zagats. I order the special which was a pork loin stuffed with black truffles. Sounds great, doesn't it? What I got was a piece of meat that was so over cook I could hardly chew it (what a shame) and tasted really awful. There was not even a trace of truffle in it. It also came with over-cooked veggies and a dollop of what looked like creamed potatoes but was so over-cook I had to use my steak knife to saw into it. There was nothing inside when I pried it open. The salad with their signature fig dressing wasn't very great either.
I wouldn't normally bother to write a review but my experience was so bad I just had to put in my 2 cents. It is a shame too because it was our anniversary and we don't get to go out to eat as much as we would like because of our baby. I'm not even picky or fussy when it comes to food. I do, however, expect the food to be edible! This may sound harsh but it is true.
