Poor Customer Service
Up until now I was satisfied with Ackerman, but recently I had to deal with Customer Service. I needed them to wire and test the alarm system after having new windows installed. At first they were to wire the windows and asked for my credit card number to apply the charges in the amount of $465. Well, they charged my credit card prior to the services performed and all that needed to be done was inspect the wiring, so the actual charges was $65. I contacted Ackerman to get a credit in the amount of $400 to be applied on my credit card, which they said they would. 3 days later, no credit had been applied. I contacted Ackerman again, and they said their policy is to send a check! Despite my telling them they charged my card prior to services rendered and I wanted a credit applied. They insisted that was not their policy and a check had been sent. They were rude on the phone and insisted that my contract allowed for them to charge before services or an invoice had been received. My contract doesn't state that, it says it will be charged for services performed.
I will definitely be looking for another security company with better customer service.
