Friendly, creative solution to our problem

We got several quotes to run a gas line to our fireplace. One place gave us a very high quote, another said it was impossible to run a line because of the location of the fireplace. David from Ridgeway came out, gave a reasonable quote, and explained to us how he would solve the problem in a creative way. We have been enjoying the fireplace for a couple years now. Thanks David!!

Crawl space is now dry

We hired them to waterproof our crawl, which had standing water when we bought the house. They installed a sump pump and did the waterproofing, which worked well and our crawl has been bone-dry ever since. My beef is with the "vapor barrier" that we paid them to install. They laid down a couple sheets of plastic here and there, nowhere near covering the dirt floor. When I asked about it, they sent someone over to "inspect" it while I was not home, and he reported back that there was nothing wrong with the vapor barrier. So while the waterproofing itself worked and we are very happy with it, they did not actually complete the job that we paid for.

Dr. Hedge is GREAT but there is a down side

I've been taking my pet here for about four years and have been extremely pleased with Dr. Hedge who is down-to-earth, pleasant, and knowledgable. I am also very happy with their extended hours on evenings and weekends. Other than Dr. Hedge though many of the staff don't seem that competant, particularly regarding billing. It's true what others have said on this site, they charge for tests they have not done and will add things onto your bill that you did not buy. You have to check your bill very carefully and I always find something added by "mistake". The other problem is the long wait. They put you in an exam room fairly quickly, but you wait there for the doctor, sometimes over an hour past your appointment time. Then when your pet is finished you wait another 15 - 20 minutes for them to figure the bill, then another ridiculous wait while they charge your credit card and fix the mistakes on the bill. Allow at least two hours for a routine visit. Last, I can't recommend the vets other than Dr. Hedge. Once when she was not in, we had to see someone else who recommended drastic, expensive, stressful and unnecessary treatment. What we like most about Dr. Hedge is that she never does that--she takes a conservative approach that is in our pet's best interest.

Worse off than before I hired them

They worked for months but in the end decided that they could not fix the problem they were hired to fix. In the process they rerouted the flow of air through my system and now I have almost no heat to my kitchen. My thermostat is set on 69 degrees and it is 62 in my kitchen. They say there is nothing they can do, but it was not like this before they came. When they left for the last time, they removed the filters from my HVAC system and left them lying on the crawl space floor. We did not discover it until we had started to develop respiratory problems. To be fair, they did not charge me a dime, so at least I didn't pay for them to cause these problems. 8-14-2009: In response to this Kudzu review, Moncrief posted a reply asking me to call them and ask to speak to a service manager. I did that, and was told all the service managers were in a meeting and that one of them would call me back. That was two months ago. Still waiting for my call back.
