I always appreciate good customer service!

My husband and I stopped by on a whim after catching a movie. It was a Saturday night so it was busy - then again, we would have thought twice if it wasn't. The OWNER along with the server was very pleasant and very attentive. Of course you expect good food, but excellent service let's you know that an establishment isn't taking its customers for granted just because their food is tasty (which it was). We had peppercorn encrusted salad, Rasta Pasta and THE WHITE CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING. The sauce on the pasta was tasty and the bread pudding w/ the rum ice cream was on point! What we liked is that it was not too sweet. Oh yeah - and the sorrel was as I remember from spots in Brooklyn. We definitely recommend this place & will return to try other dishes.

Courtesy+Professionalism = Return Customer!

Our central air system stopped blowing cool air last night so my husband planned to call our original maintenance service provider this morning to handle the issue. Unfortunately, he learned that the provider is no longer in business. After doing some really quick research this morning (anything to avoid another hot July night with no A/C ) he decided to call Estes and they arranged to have a technician sent to our home the same afternoon. Not only did the technician, Lee, arrive in a very timely manner, he was very friendly, professional and quick in figuring out the issue. He adequately explained the problem and solution which kept us from feeling as if we were blindly paying for his service. Lee also asked questions that helped us realize that the faulty part was still covered by the factory warranty. We were so impressed with his courteous, professional service that we decided to purchase a service plan on the spot. Thank you Estes and Lee for having us back in the comfort of cool air in no time! :-)

Vegetarians Beware!!!

I placed a take-out order which included a GARDEN omelet. I arrived home ready to enjoy a delicious breakfast but my husband bit into a piece of HAM in the GARDEN Omelet. Thumbs-Up’s web site states: “ We are not vegetarian but we are vegan- and vegetarian- friendly and we have several several [sic] vegetarian items on the menu.” So I called them. They offered a new omelet but I live 20 miles away and gas prices are still ridiculous so driving for an omelet is nonsensical (side note: some quality restaurants would offer to refund your order but I guess not all establishments are as customer service savvy – but I digress). I told the gentleman I thought they would be concerned about such an occurrence – especially since they patronize vegetarians. He then let me know that they are not a vegetarian restaurant and all meals ARE COOKED ON THE SAME GRILL THEY COOK PORK ON. So, why would I want a new omelet? This is officially my last meal from Thumbs-Up. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS INCREASED MY APPRECIATION OF COOKING AT HOME – AT LEAST I HAVE A BETTER IDEA ABOUT WHAT MY FAMILY IS EATING.
