What a rip off! $445 to level and install rollers!
I'm quoted over the phone $39 for the service fee, which will be waived if serviced.
Upon review, the service tech quotes $235 to level my garage door as one side had gotten off track. Pretty expensive but, fine. Into the job, he says it's not going to function properly, or will reoccur because the door rollers need to be replaced. A pack of 10 is $10 so sure, how expensive can that be? It was an additional charge of $130, so I'm up to $375 to have a usable door (minus the big issue of needing a new motor belt or motor).
Upon completion (job took 1:45 hrs), he gives me a bill for $445! Whaaaattt??? $445 to level the door and add wheels??? Really? Clearly he has a math issue. Nope! He added an $80 service fee!!!
Didn't the quote he gave for the job include the service fee? Regardless, isn't the service fee waived? I brought this to his attention so he reduced the amount to $400. Very disappointing. It's why I hate calling random service companies. The company I called prior to this one, Precision, refused to level the door saying he can not guarantee the work because the suspension rods need replaced and quoted $450ish. The suspension is fine. So annoying!
