A Very Disappointing Experience
My prior weed control company did an ok job, but it was not great. After the salesperson at Grassroots specifically assured me they would eliminate dallis grass (I asked because I was told by my prior company that the chemical needed to control dallis grass is off the market), I decided to give them a chance. The first two applications did pretty much nothing. I was told that they would not do a service call until the third application, and that it would take time. I have to point out that I did not see any granules on my grass even though they were supposed to have spread pre-emergent and fertilizer. Right before the third application, my lawn was looking awful. I called the technician and told him my lawn had never looked worse. He assured me it'd get better after the third application. A week after the third application, the weeds were still out of control (including dallis grass, clumps of fescue, broadleaf weeds, etc.). The technician said they'd send someone for a service call, and that it'd take up to a year to get a result! He said, the broadleaf weeds would eventually die on their own! Why do I need a service then? He did not send anyone for a service call. I sent him a text asking him to do so, and that I'd cancel otherwise. He said that's ok and that he would cancel my account. In summary, we are out almost $150 for three applications that did absolutely nothing, and now we have to spend more money on a new company.
