Good place for tires but skip the alignment

I've used Sears Automotive at Northlake for years. I love the convenience, and the prices are competitive when Sears has sales, which is a lot of the time. My two warnings are that this Sears is not good on alignments. Neither of my cars had pulling issues before Sears aligned them but do now. I suspect that Sears has the cars aligned right but failed to properly set the steering wheel in the neutral position both times. I'm sick of going back there (they are quick to give the 'you again' look) and am now heading to the dealership (at an additional cost of $160 for both cars). This store also has a man working customer service who is extremely condescending and rude. It's so bad that I don't even need to say his name--they already know. If you get this man, and you will know within the first minute, I advise you to leave or ask for someone else.

A good flooring company

Excel Carpet is a good flooring company. Josh was friendly and knowledgeable. The showroom in Chamblee is packed with flooring samples so you're sure to find what you want. We selected a beautiful Mohawk laminate for our kitchen. As for installation, the only problem was delivering the laminate. Excel Carpet made no prior arrangements with me so I thought that the installers, Shawn and Junior, would just bring it with them. Instead Billy called me the day before and asked if her delivery guy could deliver the laminate that afternoon. I had to make last minute arrangements to make sure someone could be at home to let the delivery man in. Also, the instructions say the laminate has to be on-site at least 48 hours prior to installation. The product was not in my house even 24 hours prior to installation. In any event, the installers did a good job and I am satisfied.

Does MM Tucker Hate Pizza?

If you like your pizza burnt black, then this is the place for you. MM Tucker's pizza oven is either set too high or its cooks don't know how to bake a pizza.

I like this Mellow Mushroom a lot. The pizza is always baked just right (not burnt like MM Tucker) and the salads are delicious.

Stress free granite countertops at a great price

I am happy I chose Georgia Granite for my countertops. Jim Cope, the company owner, came out to my house to give me the initial estimate (the bigger companies often make you do your own estimate measurements, which means you don’t meet anyone from the company until almost too late). For my family’s convenience he came on a Saturday. The following Saturday my wife and I went to Georgia Granite’s office in Smyrna to pick out our slab. Rose, Jim’s wife, helped us. The following Monday, Pablo came out and templated our countertops. He was professional and happily helped me level a cabinet. The next Saturday Pablo and Danny returned with our new countertops. This was the most impressive part of the process. They attached the countertops to the cabinets with a glue and filled the two seams with resin. They worked hard to make the seams disappear and to make sure everything was level. They did a great job attaching the sink to the granite and helped me confirm that the new faucet would fit with the partial granite backsplash behind the faucet. I was concerned that they would not give me a sink basket for the drain but they did. Also, Jim’s plumber is great. He charged me a fair price to get the sink and faucet hooked up. The new countertops, along with our freshly painted cabinets (Royal Painting), tile backsplash (Royal Painting), and floor (Excel Carpet) gives my kitchen an updated look.

Professional, Polite, and Meticulous

Royal Painting painted my kitchen cabinets and installed a tile backsplash. We are happy with the results and feel we paid a very fair price. Elias had several suggestions that we used. In fact, I am convinced that our kitchen would not look half as good as it does without Elias’s excellent advice. The work crew was also great. They were professional, polite, and meticulous.

Happy with work but technician was rude

Knight Air Conditioning swapped out a burned out fan on my ac unit in 2007 and installed a new thermostat. I thought the work was well done and the bill was fair. The technician they sent out, however, was rude (and a little scary). When I was showing him the problem he started taking apart my ac unit. I pointed to the area where the noise was coming from to continue my explanation and he snarled at me that he already knew what he needed to do. I said ok and went inside.

Not Impressed

Gutter Perfection installed my gutters two summers ago. Everything is fine now, but I was very unhappy with the installation. They nailed the tie-down straps for the downspouts directly into my new vinyl siding. I thought everyone in construction knew that you never directly nail into vinyl siding because it expands and contracts with the varying outside temperatures. I guess I was wrong. I had to call my siding guys to come back out and properly attach the straps (you have to drill an expansion hole that is slightly larger than the screw or nail and then fill the hole with silicon). I got the sense that Gutter Perfection didn't really take this very clear installation mistake seriously.

Knowledgeable, Friendly, and Kind Doctor

Dr. Hutson is our pediatrician. We like Dr. Hutson a lot. He has tons of experience, is very approachable, and gives great advice. His office staff is top-notch.

Smart and Capable

OB/GYN of Atlanta, like all large practices, has its pros and cons. The con that will probably force us to not return for prenatal for our second child is the office and nursing staff. We've endured too many scheduling snafus and too many unconcerned nurses on the phone line. If we don't return, we will sorely miss Dr. Sharon. He is simply the most capable ob in Atlanta (we had an ectopic pregnancy requiring emergency surgery and a complicated first term on the second pregnancy that he handled masterfully). In addition, he is a warm person who always made us feel comfortable.
