Failed to Perform Work as Promised
Santa Elena Tree Service has previously performed work in our neighborhood and I had recommended the company to neighbors. In early November 2008 I provided Beto Rodriguez, the owner, with a written specification to remove a stump and to split some firewood. He wrote down a fixed price on the spec sheet and promised to perform the work before Thanksgiving. I then declined several other competitive bids for tree companies that were also working in the vicinity. Santa Elena Tree Service never showed up. By mid-December I had called the company office and mobile phone several times and never received a response. In early January 2009, I sent a letter requesting that the company perform the work. There has been no response. Now, I must start all over again to find a company to perform the work. This means that I have also lost the competitive advantage of other services since they are not now operating in the area. Beware of the promises offered by the owner of this company.
