Extremely Good Work, Well Priced.
I hired Gensis to replace all the carpet in my home, except for two rooms I had them change from carpet to hardwood, and refinish three rooms of existing hardwood, as well as repair some damage to existing hardwood.
Wow! I've rarely had such a pleasant experience with a contractor. Price was right and work was done under schedule and he even gave me a discount for having the home ready, so I paid less than the quote.
Crews arrived as scheduled, went right to work, were extremely friendly, walked us through all the work each day, took careful note of our punch outs and immediately took care of them. They matched the repairs and the merges of new floor to old so well I can't tell where the repairs were made or where the new work started and the old work ended.
One warning - if Dave Thomson, the father shows up, ask for Seth Thomson, the son. Dave will tell you he's retired and only working to keep busy, and it shows. He's clearly out of his element and over his head. Deal with Seth.
Great Doctor, Horrible Organization
I see Dr. Leah Tobin at this service, who is wonderful and I give a wonderful rating to separately. However, she is the only reason I put up with this place. If you want a medical service that screws up your bills, mis-files your insurance, can't be reached on the phone, constantly tells you to use their web site that is always down, doesn't return the calls you leave on voice mail and ignores your prescription refill requests, this is the place to go. If you show up more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, they treat you about as well as you would expect to be treated in the old Soviet Union. However, if you always show up on time, don't expect them to get you right in to see the doctor. You can wait. The lab service is onsite but it's an outsourced service, and if the billing isn't right there is literally nobody to take to about it. The referral desk treats you like you are wasting their time by being there.
Why do I go? Dr. Tobin is such a ray of light in the wilderness, she delivers such good care and really listens, that I am willing to put up with the rest of the nonsense to stay under her care. If she ever goes out on her own, I will drop this place like a hot rock. I have not tried the other Doctors here, they may be just as good, but they should seriously look at how badly the office is damaging their reputations.
i have been seeing Dr. Leah Tobin for three years and couldn't be happier with my choice of physician. She really listens to what is bothering me and takes a full managed care approach to medicine. She treats me as a person, not a condition to be treated. She works with me on making informed care choices.
It is unfortunate that she works out of North Fulton Family Medicine, who I have given a bad review to separately on this site. The office is horrible to deal with, but the care provided by Dr. Tobin is worth putting having up with NFFM to obtain.
Absolutely Fantastic Granite and Tile Work, but...
These guys did an excellent plus job on counter and tile, and the pricing was well below other estimates I received.
The counter and tile work goes beyond 5 stars - they did a special custom distinctive touches just not normally found, and when I changed my mind about something after the job was finished, they made the changes at an extremely low additional charge. Couldn't be happier with that part of the work or pricing. However, don't let them do the plumbing and electrical. Let them set the sinks into the counters but get a real plumber to install the faucets , drains and hook up the pipe. They re-plumbed my kitchen sink without drain traps and sewer gas is backing up into the house and I'm having to hire a real plumber to clean it up. The pop-ups on my bathroom drains don't work. The electrical work looks OK but when you take off the cover plates the wiring is below code and would never pass a home inspection.
I am not going to down-rate these guys based on that - the granite and tile work is so superior and so well priced that I am willing to touch up the mechanicals behind them, but I do wish they would have admitted up front that their plumbing and electrical skills just aren't up to speed and I would have made other arrangements.
A waking nightmare of shoddy and incomplete work
Seeing the positive reviews here I have to believe the contractor is "poisoning the well" on this site by reviewing themselves. Handy Andy was quick to give an estimate and quick to show up first day. Everything went downhill from there. Incomplete work, cut corners, ugly work, shoddy materials, damage to other parts of the home. Work started three years ago and has never been finished. After dozens of calls I gave up. Not even with-holding the final payment would bring them back to finish. I hired other contractors to finish the work, increasing the overall cost, even with holding the final payment to HA. The parts they did finish look like I hired the kid down the street to do the work. Where they were to replace whole boards for rot, they instead just cut off the rotten part and fitted new pieces to the remaining boards - badly - looks like "redneck repair". Crews did not speak English, or if they did, pretended not to when I tried to tell them they weren't doing what I had contracted for. On the rare occasions I could get a supervisor from the office to come to the site, they agreed the work was sub-standard, promised to have it all straightened out, and did correct some errors, but ignored the majority of problems. It will be a very cold day below before I would let this contractor even set foot on my property again.
On Time, On Schedule, No Cost Overun, Quality Work
I had a slow leak in a water heater pressure temperature valve. Arrowhead quoted a reasonable price for replacement and agreed to come on my schedule. They were on time, did good quality work with no delays, and charged the estimate they quoted. I couldn't be happier with the service.
