Bad Experience

After having several bad experiences with another HVAC company, I did some research and decided to switch to Casteel. I scheduled a routine maintenance for my existing systems and was impressed with the technician. A few months later, I made the decision to finally replace my 35+ year old furnace in the basement and the associated air conditioning unit. Everything seemed fine at first; however, several weeks later my wife heard a slow drip of water coming from the room where the furnace was. The furnace had been installed with a cracked pipe and no pan underneath it, and there was water all over our basement floor that had also seeped into the wall and carpet on the other side of it. I will credit them for fixing the problem and getting a renovation company to dry everything out and do their best to repair the damage. Unfortunately, I can not give them even an average rating for botching the installation in the first place. Installing the system with a crack in the pipe is bad enough, but not even putting a pan underneath it to catch the water for just this type of situation is absolutely inexcusable.

Holtkamp Heating & AC Inc.

Done with Holtkamp

After 6 years with Holtkamp, I am done. I was initially very impressed when they first installed a new furnace in our house in 2007. I was also pleased with the service at first. However, on a maintenance visit, the technician forgot to power the furnace back on after servicing it. Since I did not know how to do it myself, I had to contact Holtkamp and have another technician more than an hour away talk me through the procedure of turning the furnace back on over the phone. This same problem happened again a couple of years later, but since I remembered what to do to resolve it, I fixed it myself. Today's maintenance visit was the final straw though. I had scheduled a service visit for 8:00 AM about 3 weeks earlier. Yesterday, I had a voice mail asking if I could reschedule the appointment for later today. When I called and asked why I needed to reschedule when I had made an appointment so far in advance, they agreed to send someone out at 8:00 AM. The technician that came out today left our sliding glass door in the basement wide open, and my wife discovered this early in the evening, as well as the fact that our indoor cat had wandered outside. This act of complete carelessness and stupidity is the final straw in my mind and unforgivable. If you choose to work with Holtkamp, I would suggest that you follow up on the technicians to ensure that they complete their work or do not leave a door wide open.

Two Palms Yard Maintenance

Leaves Are Gone

I needed help with bagging leaves. I called four companies, and Two Palms was the only one with a person, other than an answering service, on the other end. Derek and his crew of two filled 70+ yard bags with leaves from my very hilly property and did a great job of cleaning up, too. If they can handle my property, they can almost certainly handle any property.
