After waiting on hold (64 minutes, so far) Iíve yet to even talk to anyone at Ackerman about the terrible service call I received from one of their technicians this morning, after 5+ years of service with them. I donít write reviews, but this is just ridiculous. Our technician came on time, walked in with muddy boots, took one look at our wires (they were cut when our contractor replaced a back door), and then told us we needed an entirely new Ďwirelessí system, $189, plus $80 per hour for installation, which could take 'awhile'. Or he could rewire our whole house, but that would be $80 per hour and he couldnít give us any idea how many hours that would take... I asked him why he couldnít just reattach the wires and he repeated that we needed a new entire system. Right... SO, I mentioned that it was actually less $ for us to cancel our contract with Ackerman, and pay for new installation with a competitor, than it would be for this entire new system he was selling. He then said, go ahead and do what you want, and walked out of the house, leaving dirt on our carpet. He was here less than ten minutes and we are now stuck paying for an $80 service charge with no repair, because we declined an entire new system. UPDATE: Within 24hrs of seeing this review, Ackerman called US to make it right! They apologized for the phone wait & fixed our system for free. We had a great tech and will stay with Ackerman. They do care about their customers. Thanks for the great customer service!!
