Nice work on a historic house

I live in an old house in a historic district in Atlanta, so needless to say the siding work needed to be done in a very specific way to abide by the historic ordinances and then all the environmental lead paint laws. John Temmel handled the work well. They did things quickly and on-time with top notch products. The house is about 100 years old and a little bit wonky from settling over the years. They came up with creative and visually appealing solutions to address the problem areas. I recommend!

Horrible Experience

Chipper came out to my house and quoted work to remove two trees from my backyard. We agreed upon the price and scheduled a time to do the work. I chose Chipper because their price was reasonable and they had availability to complete the work. When they came to do the work the crew said they could not complete the job without a crane. The person who quoted the job indicated that the job would not require a crane. I spoke with the quoter and he said it could be a while (several days) before they could get a crane out to my house. On top of that, he said that the job would now cost more. I spoke with the owner to voice my dissatisfaction with this - that the job would not be completed by the date they had set and that they were now wanting to charge more. I communicated that we had agreed upon a price to remove the two trees and we had a written contract. The owner was not very helpful and he accused me in an angry tone of trying to cheat him. Again, I reiterated my point that a representative from his company had quoted me work (after coming to my house) and we agreed upon a price and timeframe for that work. It is my expectation that when a business or individual makes a firm agreement they honor it. At this point, I had lost my confidence in the company and did not want them to perform the job. Perhaps this was a one-off experience (some of the other reviews are positive) but my experience with Chipper was very poor.

Fantastic Experience on a Difficult Job

Lee removed two very large sweetgum trees from my backyard that were really close to my house. His crew was professional and timely and his price was reasonable. Lee did a great job working around the existing landscaping as well.

Credible and Thorough

Boutte came out to my house to quote taking down two giant sweetgums that were dangerously close to my house. There was not easy access to get to the trees. Boutte provided me with a credible and thorough quote, containing a detailed description of how they would access the trees, the equipment they would use, and a drawn to scale blueprint detailing the process. The price was also reasonable. This is in stark contrast to many of the other tree removal companies I brought out to look at the trees. In all, I got about 12 quotes. Many of the other folks were long on promises but short on details..."if all things go perfectly this is what we'll do" or "well, I think we'll do it this way but if that doesn't work we'll figure something out." They did not inspire confidence. Boutte did.
