Arrowhead Plumbing, LLC

Great 1st impression

Called about a leaky pipe near our meter. Owner Derek Bell said it'd be a simple job so would we want to do it ourselves? He was even willing to describe what had to be done. He gave a quote and even a referral if we needed it done today (closing early due to NYEve). AMAZING generosity. Still deciding what to do, but we'll definitely remember him when we need to hire a plumber!

Iron Horse Remodeling

5+ stars! Extremely happy with outcome.

Remodeled circa 1955/1975 kitchen (installed new cabinets, appliances & lights; removed load-bearing walls between kitchen & family room). Lot of custom molding/trim to match to the rest of the house. We called Wes because of Kudzu reviews and were not disappointed; in fact, they exceeded our expectations. 1st: His estimate was the most affordable. 2nd: Great attention to detail, especially in framing & woodwork. High praise to Wes, Bill, Steve, Pedro, Franco, Luis & Tommy for their excellent workmanship, input, & accommodation of changes that inevitably arose during the process. Plus, they all were SO nice! They helped us achieve our design goals w/o busting our wallet. If we ever do another big renovation, we certainly will call them again.

Straightforward estimates

Ask for John Fitzgerald. He was straightforward, didn't try to upsell, stuck to his quoted prices, and answered many questions from multiple emails. In contrast, 2 other companies gave us initial quotes, only to change them significantly them when we made minor changes.

Superior Remodeling

Majorly upcharged on lead abatement

At first, I chose Superior to replace our windows because I liked the detailed quote (per window costs), decent product, prompt replies to my followup questions, and they had the best price. So I give them good marks for that, at least. However, they had to "re-do" the quote, claiming they used the wrong prices. Instead of $40/opening for lead abatement for our house built in 1955 (comparable to 3 other vendors), they wanted to charge $100/opening! Perhaps I should've insisted that they bite the bullet & honor the quote, but this made me eliminate them immediately from our consideration. Given their 5-star rating on Kudzu, I'm still puzzled by the experience, suppose/hope that it was just bad luck, and hope it's not their usual modus operandi.

All the Right Movez

Professional, affordable, courteous movers

Joe & Ted were able to fit all of our stuff (~3-4 BR house) into 2 16' trucks. They provided 1 truck, and were willing to pack & drive another that we rented. WAY better price than I got from other licensed/insured movers. VERY stressless day. I would definitely recommend/hire them again. Thanks, Joe & Ted!
