Gwinnett Pet Watchers

Posted on: 4/29/2015

Excellent pet sitters!

We have six cats, several of which require special care, and one of whom has to be kept separate from the rest. Our friends, who are fellow cat owners, told us that they loved Gwinnett Pet Watchers. When we spoke with the owner, Robin, we found her rates very reasonable. We appreciated that she charged a flat rate, did not charge an extra fee to give medication, and provided several options for the lengths of their visits each day. Despite it being just before a holiday, and having short notice, Robin was able to meet with us with one of her experienced pet sitters, Jennifer, to walk through the house, meet our pets, and find out what needed to be done while we were away. The pet portal also provided us with a way to give them a photo of each animal, make sure they knew what medicine needed to be given to each cat, and tell them which of our pets had special issues (such as one cat that always tries to escape). Jennifer was able to text us each day to let us know how things were going, and when we came home we were happy to see that everyone had been well-taken care of. We would definitely recommend Gwinnett Pet Watchers to our friends and family.

Bodyplex

Customer unfriendly!

My husband and I had the worst customer service experience of our lives at Bodyplex after we signed up for personal training. For $200 a month plus monthly membership fees ($60), we were promised hour long weekly training sessions, regular progress checks (weigh-ins and measurements) and nutritional counseling. For approximately five months we received the hour long training sessions. After a month-long break we were unable to contact our trainer to resume our sessions, so we contacted management to explain the situation. We also mentioned that we were unhappy about problems rescheduling missed training sessions and that we had received no progress-checks or nutritional counseling. Management blamed the problems on the Head Trainer, who they had fired. The new Head Trainer, Adam Arnett, insisted on meeting in person to discuss the problems, but was unable to meet with us for several weeks, during which time we were billed again. When we were finally able to meet with Adam to discuss the training issues he agreed to cancel our contract and let us make up the missed sessions (three months), but never gave us the contact information for the new trainer. When we contacted him again about the fact that we had no contact information for the new trainer the response we received was so rude that we canceled our membership and contacted the corporate office. We spoke to part-owner Linda Smith, who spoke with us briefly about the problems but never followed-up.

Perilous Posillipo!!!

My boyfriend and I both ordered the Posillipo. He got it with marinara sauce and I got mine with white sauce. Each of our dishes had multiple fragments of shell in them, ranging from dime-sized to smaller. We picked several of the pieces out, but my boyfriend did not see a large fragment, nearly choked, and had to spit his food out. At that point both of us lost our appetite, even though we had only eaten a small portion of our meal. When we complained to the manager (also our server), he claimed that any dish with shellfish would have fragments of shell, and that we should be more careful (and yet we have both ordered dishes with shellfish before and have never had this problem). He offered to give us a free dessert but when we declined he attempted to bill us full price for the meal. When we complained again, after arguing with us some more he knocked off the price of one meal and a salad. We were glad he adjusted the price, but we won’t go there again due to the fact that we had to argue for something that should have been offered to begin with, and also because we should have never been served food that had been so poorly prepared.

Great dentist, who will make you smile!

I wasn't satisfied with my previous dentist, so I made an appointment to see Dr. Gangwisch for a cleaning and tooth whitening service. Dr. Gangwisch and his staff were very friendly and I felt very comfortable under their care. The dental hygenist, Courtney, who performed my cleaning was very thorough and did a great job. Dr. Gangwisch carefully reviewed my history and clearly explained what sort of preventative measures I should take to keep my smile bright. I would recommend this dentist to anyone who wanted quality care at affordable prices!

Cast-On Cottage & Needlepoint

Nice yarn, horrible customer service!

My mother is visiting from out-of-state, so I thought it would be nice to visit a few local yarn shops. I have been receiving e-mail newsletters from Cast-On Cottage & Needlepoint, but I had never had an opportunity to go to the store until today. We entered the store and looked at the merchandise for approximately 15-20 minutes before anyone even bothered to say hello. I was interested in a pattern for a sample scarf that they had on display, and managed to flag down a staff member. She showed us the yarn but never bothered to respond to my question about the pattern. The prices seemed in line with other yarn stores, and the selection was good, but my mother and I both got the feeling that the staff was uninterested in helping us, so we left without purchasing anything.

Best Veterinarian EVER!!!

Dr. Baird and her staff are wonderful! I have six cats, all former strays, and they are very understanding when I tell them that I want to provide the best care possible, but that I'm on a budget! They always go above and beyond to help in any way that they can, and are great when it comes to getting a sick pet in quickly! I trust them to provide the best quality care possible for my pets and I know that they will go above and beyond the call of duty. For example, when my male cat recently injured his tail, I brought him to an emergency clinic as the accident occurred on a holiday. At the emergency clinic, I was sold the wrong-sized halo and I had to go to Dr. Baird's office to get him a larger size so that he wouldn't lick his wound. I brought him with me, and Dr. Baird was kind enough to take a few minutes out of her very busy schedule to take a look at his wound and discuss his treatment with me. Dr. Baird is hands-down the best, most-knowledgeable and most-caring Veterinarian that I have every met!

Mediocre care

My male cat had the misfortune of getting his tail caught in a door on a holiday, which resulted in our trip to the After Hours Emergency Pet Clinic. He had a two inch laceration, which required stitches. However, the first suggestion the Vet made was that we amputate part of his tail, which seemed excessive to us. What also bothered me was that they failed to prescribe an antibiotic to prevent infection (I got our regular Vet to prescribe one). We also paid $20 for a halo (to keep him from licking his wound), which didn't fit, so I made another trip to our regular Veterinarian and purchased a larger one for just $7.
