A friend told me about this group, and it was very convenient for us, so I signed my daughter up for some ACT/SAT prep. The owner, Mr. Chapman, is very unorganized and misleading. He sold me a big package ($975) that he said would get my daughter ready to retake the ACT. She had taken it once and did well but wanted to score a couple of points higher to get over 30, and this was what he suggested. The tutor she was assigned to simply reviewed the homework with her every night, so she didn't learn much at all. She went to all of the sessions and finished all of the homework, and her score actually went DOWN. The owner, Mr. Chapman, was defensive, catty and difficult to deal with. I am so mad at myself for spending that kind of money without some written guarantee that her scores would improve like the more reputable tutors offer, such as Appelrouth and Princeton Review. It was a massive waste of time and money, and dealing with Mr Chapman was stressful. On the whole, it was just a terrible experience. I highly recommend going with a company who has a proven track record and who stands behind their services. I should have known the company was unprofessional when I walked through the door and met the owner. Don't make the same mistake I did. You can spend the same amount or less than I did and have some recourse against poor tutoring with many other companies, and they'll likely be more polite and pleasant to deal with than Richmond Tutors. Buyer beware.
