Looks good/Doesn't last

Home Rebuilders built my kitchen and master suite addition in Fall 2003 thru Spring 2004. As I write this my 4'X7' enclosed marble master shower is being ripped out because the builder inproperly installed the wallboard, drain and shower pan. The wallboard used was not cement board, and they used nails not screws to install it. The shower liner (pan) was punchered with nails, ripped in places, and covered over the drain weep holes. After time water built up in the walls and floor, the nails rusted and discolored the marble. My repair guys removed the stained marble and discovered the wallboard dissolved, water under the floor, mold in the walls and the subfloor wet and rotted. The repair is costing approx. $4,000. and 2 weeks without a shower. Other problems and things that didn't last: A/C replaced 2006, exterior eves rotted and replaced 2007, hardwood floor finish started coming off in late 2004 (kitchen floor was refinished for $4,000. we still have to do the bedroom). There are other smaller items we have had to replace and I anticipate more. Our project cost more than $250,000. I expected major construction to last more than 7 years. I thought Home Rebuilders was over-priced and I paid up for what I thought would be the quality they promished. Not true!
