Good, but slow
It took five weeks for anyone to even look at my HK receiver. The drop-off invoice stated "approximately 20 days". Obviously, that's WORKING DAYS. Five weeks is a looong time to go without my entertainment center. The tech finished on a Friday. I called the following Monday (again) to ask about status and was told it was finished. They didn't call me as promised, but I may have been on Monday's call list. I don't know and didn't ask. I was just happy that it was fixed. Still, if I hadn't checked myself, who knows; the unit could still be at the shop. The HK works fine. $59 diagnostic fee + $12 for replacing a fuse and cleaning up the system (I refuse to mess with electric stuff any more even if it's a suspected easy fix like a fuse. It only makes things worse when I open up the case). $61 for a fuse and cleanup might sound pricey, but I don't have a problem with it... it's like the $1000 for computer repair joke.. 10 cents for the nut, $999.90 for knowing where to put it. They have to make a living too. Bottom line: I wasn't real happy about the long wait, but I trust Norman's. I've done business with them for more than 10 years and they've never failed to fix my machines even when I brought something out-of-date in like a reel-to-reel tape recorder or turntable.
