Like several other reviewers I too am suspect of the "recommended" fixes. It happens every time they come out (twice per year). I don't mind paying for maintenance issues now and again but how many shingles, boot vents, brackets, etc. need to be replaced every few months on a 7 year old house?? Each time they run a "special" my bill does not reflect the correct advertised amount and I end having to call for an adjustment. The reps are responsive and make the change but geesh you run a special pay attention and write up the bill accordingly. Overall ABGC has an easy to use online scheduling platform, prices are average for cleaning when it's just cleaning and their staff is pleasant. However, I can't shake the feeling of being ripped off- between the add-ons on the billing "errors". So, I will switch companies.

We have to manually add the discount because our system doesn't do it automatically so we do miss some. When we schedule 250 jobs on a special, one person enters all those discounts and it can be easy to forget, especially when we're busy. It's not that we are trying to "get out of" the discount, it's just a mistake. As far as the repairs...we tell you what's wrong when do the gutter cleaning...it's that simple. If you were to know me or Dickson on a personal level you would realize that to suggest that we would try to rip someone off is ridiculous. On the other hand, I do understand where you're coming from.
Had them out this week for first time. They arrived on time and were done in 45 minutes. I will use again!

Thank you, we're glad that you are happy with our service. Make sure to get the gutters cleaned in the Summer after all the Spring shedding is done.
I had my roof and gutters replaced about five years ago by reputable companies. When ABGC came out yesterday they said that there was problem that needed fixing for $65 in addition to the $105 they had quoted. Basically the problem was that the gutters were not correctly attached on one part of the house. I was out of town but authorized the repair and have paid for it. Of course, in all fairness, I have no way to dispute the need for this additional work. I asked for a photo, but was told later that the work had already been finished and they were gone from my house by the time I requested the photo. But it does seem odd that this type of repair was necessary so soon after having new gutters installed. Today I spent about twenty minutes speaking to Davis from the company after I emailed them about my concerns, and he assured me that they are honest and don't rip people off and perhaps--just perhaps--I was being paranoid. Maybe yes. But maybe no.

5 years is about 1/4th the life of your gutter system, it's not weird that one was loose. I think it's unfortunate that you don't trust us by default.
It never fails. When I take my car in to a quick lube shop for an oil change, the staff attempts to sell additional services where the profits are higher. A Better Gutter Cleaning provided a quote to clean my gutters for $105. After signing up, they don't provide a precise day/time and informed me that I don't have to be home when they do the cleaning. They arrived to perform the job exactly two weeks after I signed up. However, while still at my home, their field supervisor called me at work to inform me that my gutters were separating from the fascia board in three places. He offered to secure the gutters with their lifetime guaranteed screws for $120. Since I wasn't home and hadn't seen any previous problems and since $120 seemed ridiculously high for attaching a three gutter screws, I declined. This is the first time I've used this company, and like the quick oil change shops, I couldn't help but wonder whether somebody was attempting to take advantage of my ignorance and/or absence. UPDATE: Since writing this review, I discovered that their team removed the existing screws and placed them on my patio table, thereby leaving several feet of my gutter dangling from my roof. My gutter was not in this condition when they arrived, and I don't appreciate hiring somebody to clean my gutters only to to be quoted an additional $120 to fix damage that, it appears to me, they caused.

I understand what you are saying and we all hate the "add on" when you get your oil changed, etc. We feel like it would be negligent to just clean your gutters and walk away without telling you about problems. I can assure you that the problem is legit and the pricing is reasonable but also understand your skepticism, especially considering how many unscrupulous people there are out there these days.
I have been using ABGC for 5 years now. Absolutely the best company in the business. Very professional. Any special request, e.g. check for lose gutters, broken shingles...anything, they do for no charge. If you do need some repairs they perform at very reasonable rates. Just try to get a company to come out to do some small roof repairs;the experienced home owner knows it's a nighmare to get someone to even consider small jobs let alonge show up. With ABGC you don't even need to be around to get an estimate. ABGC is there quickly to get the job done, does a great job and at half the cost of a handyman. Plus, they are going to be around in the future to back up their work. This company is top notch, great service and as so many people have said in the reviews; your property will be in better shape than when they started. They even cleared all the leaves from a walkway in my backyard that had nothing to do with gutter cleaning. This company is committed to each and every customer. And when they say you don't need to be home, they mean it. They do a great job even when no one is around and just leave a bill at the door. They start out trusting you; you can certainly trust them. You will never have an experience with this company that is frustrating and fighting battles. This is the lowest stress home maintenance company you will ever deal with.

I'm happy to hear that you are satisfied with our service. We strive to make gutter cleaning the easiest thing you'll schedule all year long. Thanks for your continued business.
I used the guys a number of times. I signed up with them to come out and clean my gutters twice a year May and Jan for a slight discount. I got tired of having to call someone to clean my gutters. So I thought it would be great to have them just come out and clean them and they offered a slight discount if I signed up for a year. They would never come out on time. Always put me at the end of their list. May became June, Jan became Feb. I would have to call and ask them when they were coming out. Last time I used them they came out. The guy called me on my cell and tried to sell me on replacing what they said was a broken shingle for $80.00. I was at home they did not know I was at home and I heard them banging on my gutters. I went outside and they denied they were beating on my gutters to get the stuck leaves out. Sometimes they cleaned OK. Depends on what crew they send out what kind of job you are going to get. I would watch them like a hawk if you use them.

Of course, I would be happy to discuss the problems, but since I did not have that opportunity I will address the concerns here. First, we give all service agreement customers top priority over other "call in" jobs, so I'm not sure what the problem is here. My suspicion is that this customer is signed up for June and Feb service instead of Jan and May like they think. It's an easy fix if they will call. Very rarely do we push service agreement customers into a different month. Secondly, we do look for things like damaged shingles, etc, while we are cleaning the gutters. Normally, we charge $125 to start doing roof repairs because it requires an entirely different set of gear and tools than gutter cleaning. It takes a good deal of time to get set up for this type of work, so it sounds like the crew foreman was giving you a break on the initial cost if he was only quoting $80. Also, remember that it will cost at least $250 to get a roofing company out to do the repairs, so we feel like we are offering you a bargain even at $125, and all our crews are certified MSA's (master installers) by major shingle manufacturers. Lastly, we do beat on the gutters somewhat while cleaning them - the reason for this is that the composite material from the roof shingles gets stuck on the bottom and tapping on the gutters loosenes it up so we can blow it out. Of course, this makes a lot of noise, but does not damage the gutters. There's no reason to deny this, so also not sure what the issue was with that. As far as "watching us like a hawk" - that's fine with us, in fact, we encourage you to compare our integrity to anyone. If you want to call me, please feel free. I'm in the office most days, and available by cell phone anytime for my customers. Just tell Jennifer you want to speak with me directly and she'll be happy to give you my number. Thanks - Davis Seaborn, Managing Partner
I am very pleased with the ease of scheduling and professional workers that came out to service our gutters. I was able to schedule an estimate, get service and pay online. My only complaint is that the company was too busy to handle the gutter cleaning within the 7 promised business days and I had to call to find out why they had not scheduled the service. Other than that, they were excellent and I will certainly use them again.

Hey there, and thanks for letting us know how we did. I wanted to apologize for the delay you experienced, but all this rain we've had has caught us off guard. Everyone is trying to get their gutters cleaned at the same time, which would not be a problem for us normally, but we had already scaled down our staff for the slow season, and it really put us behind. You'll find this was just an isolated incident. Thanks!
Used "A Better Gutter Cleaning" to repair a loose gutter that I had in 2007. Since then, I have had problems with rain coming down the front of my house, but have continued using the service with no notation of any problem by ABGC. However after contacting Davis at ABGC, he worked with me to determine a workable solution. I believe that this showed ABGC's dedication to customer service, and I applaud this from a vendor.

After investigating the problem thorougly we were able to determine that the repair we did back in 2007 was necessary, however, it was not the only thing that needed to be done to fix the problem. I felt like my crew should have at least realized this, so I refunded the $310 for the repairs back in 2007.
Used this company for the first time yesterday. They did exactly what they said they would do, were on time, professional and thorough. I will definitely use them again.

Hey, and thanks for letting us know how everything went yesterday. Our promise to our customers is to always be professional, operate with integrity at all times, communicate effectively, and make gutter cleaning the easiest service you schedule all year. We'll see you in the Fall after the leaves are down.
I made a call to tell them what I wanted, and they gave me a price and time frame that they'd come. They informed me the day before when they'd be at the house. You don't need to be home, as they will do the job outside and then leave an invoice in the mail. Easy scheduling, no need to be home, and they do their job as requested. What more can I really ask for? Highly recommend!
