When you see the apartments at first it seems a good deal for the price but that is where the problem lies. The building manager actually showed myself the property which gave me some security, being a young single mom,i was tired of being taken advantage of and even explained to Diane Smith the troubles i have endured and was assured that would not happen there. This is a horrible place to live. Management is horrible. Things break, they won't come out and fix it for weeks and blame tenants for their own mistakes. When they finally do show up a month later they leave your apartment a mess. When you ask for the manager's supervisors information they state you can't have it. Watch your lease, they try to get you for every little thing, very money hungry. Make you pay extra for someone living in the apartment, even though it's a two bedroom apartment and only one person was residing there. They don't take care of the grass and outside maintenance. Their own people cleaned up a vacated apartment and upon leaving had scattered glass everywhere and was there for months still probably there..I had cleaned my appliances and had one blind that needed replacing on me leaving the blind they said cost 20 and the rest of my security deposit they kept was 70$ for fees to clean the stove and fridge, where below you will read i didnt have a fridge for 3 months.. they kept rescheduling and ultimitly never came to fix the problem i spent money to try and fix myself.. ..

I moved into one of their Shaker Heights apartments in June 2011. I knew I was in trouble from the first day when I opened my refridgerator. OMG!My unit was vacant for over a year before I moved in and the fridge had not been cleaned out. It was disgusting. How do you forget to clean the fridge before you rent the unit? Also when the weather started getting colder, I had some unexpected visitors who were furry and had little tails. I complained about the mice and was told someone would take care of it. I come home from work one day, and on my kitchen counter was one of the sticky glue mouse traps!!! There mice solution was to furnish me with traps. Now that I've moved out, 5 months later hey are trying to gouge me with all these ridiculous made up damages. I am anxioulsy await my date in court. Just stay away.

I was previously a homeowner and was reluctant to rent from AIY due to some of these reviews, but my experience has been wonderful. I have been dealt with in a respectful manner by the entire office and anytime I need something fixed it's done in a timely manner. Be careful about what you read.

i was living in lakewood club apts i moved out and they stayed with my deposit saying that that they needed to replace some things witch i think they are lying. Stay away from these people they are thefts. Heat is nonexistente. The onsite manager while i was living there i had direct tv service whitch i was paying for it and without sending out a memo they went to the roof and cut the service themself. I had mold in the bathroom and they told me to clean it myself. Thank God i moved out of these apts because there was another issue i had guests lol everyday coming from the outsides "roaches" and they never did anything but to charge something u never did to the apt and i kept in good condition they are pretty good for this.

If I could do it over I wouldn't rent from AIY. They are rude, have horrible customer service, do not maintain their properties, there isn't an onsite manager at my property (which they are ok with!). My complex has had several issues going on for well over a year (common doors don't lock, missing doors, etc.) and everytime a tenant addresses the issue AIY claims it will be fixed "soon". Save yourself the agony and rent elsewhere.

Wost management team ever!!!!! I wouldn't let my worst enemy live in one of their buildings! It might look like a nice place to live but it's not once you get there. Also, most of the doors don't lock!
