This is a great place to take your baby. Liz is the head groomer an she takes her time with your baby if there is something she notices when she sees it she will alert you when you pick them up. I'm... glad that they hand dry my baby because he hates blow dryers, he is a terrier and they seem to specialize in those breeds our baby loves to stay and visit all day Mike is wonderful he meets no strangers and when Sandy was there she was the cutest and I know they care for your babies because they love theres and sometimes you can see them around the shop. The service slowly changed after that. We took our two dogs in frequently for several months. At first the groomings were excellent, then they became average. No specific complaint, just not to the... level where they started. On our last visit I went in to pick up one of the dogs and it bacame rather obvious that after multiple visits, they could not tell the dogs apart even though one dog is brown and one dog is black. Our dogs most likely will not go back, but we would not discourage anyone from trying them, they may have a more consistant experience.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Yup, she closed down for good, leaving all of her employees jobless with no warning. One day they had jobs, the next they didn't. However, for those of you familiar with her wonderful work, the head groomer Miss Liz is currently grooming down the street on the plaza with Kroger further south on highway 9 at windward at a shop called Puppy Fresh.
I will never go back. They said they would have to charge me extra for de matting and i agreed that was fine. But i called at 5.10 and was told they hadn't started on him yet. They then called me at 5.42 and said he was ready.!! I got there and he was shaved and they still charged me for de matting.! When i questioned it Liz the groomer came out and was very rude to me infront of my 2 small children. Basically they spent 22 minutes on my dog and charged me 50 dollars. The receptionist was very polite and friendly but liz the groomer was so nasty i actually cried on the way home. I WOULD NOT TAKE A DOG THERE AGAIN EVER.
This is a communication issue. The customer did not understand what my staff was telling her. The dog had been in our shop for five hours and had to shaved down due to severe matting. My staff spent a great deal of time dematting her dog. Then we bathed her dog, including a free microtek bath for where the mats had irritated the skin. When the customer called the groomer had not put the dog on the table to complete the groom (clean up stray hairs, clip nails, etc.). We DID NOT spend ONLY 22 minutes on this customers dog. I believe Liz was calmly trying to explain the grooming process(remove mats, bathe, dry, and finish), but this customer refused to listen (per other employees present at the time). Per my review on 4/22/08, I totally disagree with the owners reply to my complaint. I was NOT verbally abusive to his employee Liz...it was the other way around! The woman threatened to SHAVE my dog!! Also, I did not complain in the store. I called the next day and spoke with Liz so no other employees were present (as the owner stated). I guess the owner wanted to make it sound better on this site....well, I know the truth on what happened. I actually spoke with the owner on the phone and told him everything that happened that day. For all the people that don't know about Liz....RUN if you see her at the Puppy Fresh!!! I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I had to!!! I can see why Soapy Puppy went out of business!
This customer's dog came in matted to the skin. We try our best to explain the difficulty in remove matting this bad, but some customers don't understand. Mats to the skin don't just sit there, they pull at the skin and are very uncomfortable for the dog. I personally spoke to my employees (all present during this customers visit) and I believe there is truth and exaggeration in this customers review. Yes we tried to explain about dematting his dog and we did charge him a demat fee. But, he did not understand his dog would like after dematting and was verbally abusive to my staff. Soapy Puppy took wonderful care of my 5 month old puppy having his first groom. On top of that, he looked wonderful! Highly recommend!
Great service. Great employees. Great Owner. I dropped off my Shih Tzu for her first groom. I learned some items that I did not know. I also was warned about some items that were found while grooming. Everything turned out to be ok but atleast they told me about them. Going back soon!
I've taken my dogs to Soapy Puppy twice. Was very pleased the first time, not so much the second time. It took all day to get them done, and then it didn't seem like they had even been bathed, just cut. May try one more time (because everybody has a bad day now and then!), but really need to see consistency in their service.
I'm sorry you felt that we were inconsistant. We welcome the opportunity to prove ourselves to you again! Whenever you pick up your pets, if you need more trimmed, always tell us. We can take more off but it's difficult to put more on. I can guarantee that every dog that comes in gets a thorough bath. Groomers can't trim fur if the fur isn't cleaned (it ruins their clippers). Lastly, we are slower than traditional groomers... we hand dry each dog and don't force them on the table or through the process. Feel free to call us to discuss your concerns. I took both of my dogs to Soapy Puppy and it was a wonderful experience for them. They were happy when I picked them up and they looked great. The staff was friendly and very knowgeable about my breed of dog and what they needed as well as what they didn't need.
MY FRIEND AND I ARE BOTH CUSTOMERS. WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE, THE PRICE IS A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE COMPETITORS IN THE AREA. I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE MY TOY POODLE THERE ALL DAY AND WHEN I CAME TO PICK HIM UP HE WAS IN THE ARMS OF THE OWNER. HE LOOKED VERY HAPPY. THEY DID AN GREAT JOB ON HIS GROOM, THEY NOW HAVE ANOTHER SATISFIED CUSTOMER WHO WILL DEFINITLY RETURN.
I'm very particular about where my Westie gets groomed. Most groomers make my Westie look like a Schnauzer (shaved back, etc.). After meeting with Sandy, the owner, I decided to take a chance (her logo is her own westie dog). WOW WOW WOW! Besides having the perfect groom on my dog, Soapy Puppy also uses all natural products. My westie is prone to allergies & chemicals aggravate the situation. They also comforted me by not using heat dryers in their business. I'm VERY impressed with this business and the quality of care given to the pets and owners. My westie, Dolly, is impressed with the doggie bakery. We will be back every month for a clip and treat!
I'd never taken a dog to a groomer before, and had never had a dog who NEEDED grooming before. Sandy and Mike and their staff seem to be in it for the love of dogs. They were understanding, patient, thorough, and knowledgable. And didn't make me feel bad that I'd neglected my dog! They cared about making HIM happy, and ME happy. When we need to bathe our dog, we'll make use of their do-it-yourself wash. When he needs mats brushed out or a trim, we'll take him back to Jenn, who worked her butt off for our dog. It's a little farther for us to drive, but we'll go back.
