I was very impressed from my first contact with this company - their website is easy to navigate and informative, they were efficient about getting a quote done and sent to me in writing, they explained what they would do, ad their work was excellent. I needed to have 2 large trees (belonging to my neighbors) trimmed back as they were encroaching on my house, and I also needed work done on 8 other trees in my yard. They are very safety conscious, which is an important factor in this type of work. The crew was very professional and efficient, and although they had to leave in the middle of the job because of a thunderstorm, they returned promptly the next day to complete the work. The quality of the work is excellent, and they are experts in working with trees.

Southern Tree did a great job for my family. We had some limbs that needed to come down that hung over the house. These needed to be gone fast as I had a house inspection coming up. They worked quickly and acted like true professionals. I'm moving but will definitely call these guys if I need help at the new place.

From the President: The previous review is unfortunate. We certainly did not seek to do any damage and are sorry it happened. The important fact that was not mentioned is that the tree was deemed "HAZARD REMOVAL." A "HAZARD REMOVAL" is a tree that has no structural support of its own (i.e. very dead or blown over). This tree was in fact very dead and rotten with no bark. In this case, we are ONLY seeking to avoid injury during the removal as we have no ability to control the tree. A very dead tree can literally "snap" off at any moment and it is impossible for any skilled tree professional to know when that will happen once a saw is put to it. The implications of a hazard removal were clearly documented on the quote (and again in our terms) - and acknowledged by the client with their acceptance to do the work. The crew on this job was the same great crew that has received much of the previous positive reviews. While they are highly skilled and trained, they are not yet able to do what only God can control. I am very proud of our crew and their SAFE removal of this tree, I only wish the client was as appreciative. The lesson here is DON'T WAIT to remove a dead tree.

They made a mess and caused significant collateral damage in removing a single tree. Their quote says "not responsible for damage caused by removing tree", and they lived up to that 100%. Damage more than doubled the cost of the removal. Glad the tree was away from the house. Buyer beware. Based on other reviews here, we might have gotten a bad crew. But we won't be using these guys again.

We were very satisfied with Southern. Work was done on time, with diligence and quality. Darren was very professional hearing our needs and offered suggestions to ensure the proper care of our beautiful oaks. We've received multiple estimates but chose these guys without a hesitation which proved to be right. Thank YOU!

I've been researching companies to cut my tree for years and they provided the best one stop shop w/the best price. I didn't want to do anything but pay them. Some companies want you to do the calling around to have lines dropped and permits acquired, but Southern did everything. They were even kind enough to deliver woodchips to friend's house. My tree was a beast, nearly 200 years old. It's took some delicate work to lower all those huge limbs between my house and my neighbors. I'm really glad I chose them because I could see anyone of those limbs destroying our homes.

Southern Tree is great to work with. They responded to my request for an estimate promptly. Their price was fair. They showed up when they said they would. They took down the tree with no surprises and they cleaned up the property really well. All in all, a very good experience.

Thank you for the feedback! We especially like the opportunity to replant nice trees in place of the dying we remove as in your case.
Having "A Southern Tree" as our tree-care specialists has been a pleasure both personally and financially. Their estimate for removing one large, white oak and trimming dead limbs from the other was quite fair. As well, their work was efficient, timely and complete. We have been very satisfied with them and recommend them highly.

Southern Tree removed several large pine trees in our backyard very near the house. The president of the company contacted me personally to provide the estimate and the crew who did the work were very professional. They came highly recommended and delivered as promised. The cost was very reasonable for the job and would definitely use them again for any future jobs.

When we lost a tree the night before our house was to be sold, A Southern Tree delivered outstanding emergency service. They came to the house, emailed me pictures, and recommended the proper course of action. And they did the work the same night! Complete removal and cleanup.

We had a great experience with the whole Southern Tree team. Darren is a professional who will ensure you understand what needs to be done to achieve what you are looking for. The pruning and removal team was equally professional and fascinating to watch. We are very happy with out decision to use them and will be using them again in the near future.

We had two large water oaks in our front yard growing very close to the house. A Southern Tree gave us the best quote by far for removing them. We were a little worried, since lower cost often translates to lesser value, but we were pleasantly surprised. The team was efficient and professional. They took the trees down and did a great job of removing the debris. They came back the next day to grind the stumps and were so quick and quiet that my husband didn't even realize that they were in the yard. He was disappointed that he missed the process; he had wanted to watch! I would definitely recommend A Southern Tree.
