Pleasant experience!, 7/26/2013

I went there for the first time yesterday and although it took about 3 hours, the process went by fairly fast. The staff throughout the process were nice, professional, and explained everything... thoroughly. I have never donated plasma before and won't hesitate to do it again. They did a great job!

good experience, 7/14/2013

Went there for the first time last week. It will take about 3 hrs the first time, because they give you a mini-physical and take you through all the required paperwork. I was treated in a friendly,... professional manner, from the receptionist and through out the center. I was actually surprised, since I had given plasma once before in Miami, and they were snotty. No complaints here.

Friendly but lazy staff

Went in today on Friday. They are only open for 3 hours. They didn't even take the fact that I was already a plasma donor before they deferred me. My veins have donated plasma at Talecris, Serologicals and Octopharma but for some reason these people think that I couldn't take a needle for because my veins are small? Ridiculous. Either their staff is not not trained to know what candidates can donate, or they rather defer you then to take new donors on Friday. On a positive note, the receptionist is very friendly but I wish I hadn't wasted my time.

Hi John, I am sorry you were inconvenienced on Friday. We are only open for s few hours on Friday mornings because the staff has extended hours on Mondays and Wednesdays. This allows us to accomodate some of our donors who work until 5:00 pm. There are several reasons that your veins be unsuitable for donation now as opposed to when you were previously a donor. Our staff has years of phlebotomy experince and every staff member has worked at other blood or plasma centers before coming to work for us. We do not want to put anyone through undue hardship once you are in the donor chair. But I will certainly follow up on your comments. If you want to come back by our office, I will have a look at your veins myself.

Not walk in friendly. Too complicated a process.

I've gone there once but had to make an appointment and decided it wasn't worth it. Most plasma centers encourage walk-ins but this one seems not to. They make it more complicated than it has to be here. At other centers you spend all day the first time but at least you are compensated that day more money than they give for making you set an appointment. They also turn away a lot of people. Other plasma centers are packed. This one is not. I think they want to make the donor clientele different from other centers. I'm not even sure how long they are going to even last because they make the process more than it should be to donate. They used to be open 9-5 and now its only a short day on Friday and other hours are cut.

Hi Timothy, thank for for your feedback. It is true that we have not encouraged walk in donors. The main reason is that we have only been producing plasma needed by our own company. Additionally, we are open just a few hours on Fridays because we have extended hours on Mondays and Wednesdays to accomodate our donors who work full-time during the days and do not get off until 5 pm. We are beginning to collect plasma for other companies and so we are growing. As we work through the backlog of donors on our waiting list, we will start taking more walk-in donors. Our donation fees are $25 on the first donation adn $40 on the second donation. We pay more money on the second donation as we need at least two donations on a donor to qualify the first unit. If you completed the first donation, I would encourage you to come back for the second donation. The return process is quite easy.

What?

ADMA Bio center is fully licensed- all of the FDA and state licenses are displayed in the front area of the donor center. The center is accepting new donors. Great staff and service!

Never accepting donors

They were operating WITHOUT a license!!! How is something as serious as that possible?! Taking advantage of Norcross community.
