I called to redeem a Couples Massage Groupon at the Reiki Institute immediately after purchasing it in May. First, the company never answered a call. Then it took days for them to return my call. When they finally returned did, they told me that they did not have availability to accept my Groupon on a Saturday until the end of September (4 months later!!!). I booked the first available Saturday morning appointment for 9/28. I had read reviews warning of a scam where they book appts & then call the day before to cancel for some bogus reason, but I hoped my experience would be different - It wasn't. I was called after business hours at 7 pm on Friday, 9/27 by their office informing me that they no longer accepted Groupons. Not only did they call me on a Friday night less than 24 hours in advance of my scheduled appt, but the woman on the phone was unapologetic & rude, and tried to get me to pay for the massage on my credit card. I have never had a worse experience with such poor service all around. The staff was horrible. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. The Groupon I purchased specifically read: "The amount paid for this voucher ($45.00) with Atlanta Institute for Reiki & Energy Medicine NEVER EXPIRES. The promotional value expires October 30, 2013." This Business is NOT BBB Accredited.

Complete scammm! terrible customer service, they are a joke, purchased a groupon. First the call keep getting "dropped" than they were trying to book me for friday next week, she took my credit card for "extra service" of $25 otherwise i had to wait three months from now. Than she put me on hold after my credit card and an other person started the whole process, asking my name etc... She said the appointment was not booked and they had next availability in three months. seriously, are you kidding me...

After contacting them multiple times and leaving messages that weren't returned, I finally reached someone in April who was not able to schedule me until late June after my Groupon expired. The manager agreed to honor the expired Groupon for my appointment, but I was told that I had to pay an extra $20 per person in advance for the hot stone promotion in order to hold my appointment. The afternoon before my appointment, I received a call from a scheduler saying that they had received information from Groupon that I had gotten a refund. I explained that this was not true, so she told me she would check on it and call me back. I called Groupon and confirmed that I was indeed correct. She actually did call back and this time told me that the manager had already cancelled my appointment because the Groupon had been refunded. Why wouldn't someone check w/ me BEFORE canceling the appointment? I explained that I had just confirmed w/ Groupon that this was incorrect and that I had also paid $40 in advance for the hot stones. She said they get 200-300 calls per day and that they have a daily wait list of people trying to get in. I told her that I wanted a refund for the advance payment, and she said that she would leave a message for the manager to call me. I am still waiting and definitely not holding my breath. Not only is this business poorly managed, it is blatantly ripping people off. I'm reporting them to the BBB.

I called to make my appointment 3 months in advance and I got promised that I would be able to use my Groupon for the service and amount that I purchased Groupon for. I happened to call the day before to verify my appointment. I got a call the day of my appointment , which was a Saturday, and was told a manager canceled my appointment due to canceled Groupon and that a manager would call me on Monday. As of 3 weeks later a manager still has not called me to work something out. I am very disappointed with this whole experience. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! Very poor customer service skills here and they need a receptionist. It takes days to get a call back.

I purchased a couples massage on groupon, but when I tried to schedule an appointment, they told me they were booked up for months unless I wanted to upgrade to a different type of massage for about $30 (the only difference was this massage had aromatherapy). I explained that I was not interested in upgrading and they said they would contact the manager to find a time that would work. I had this conversation with the receptionist THREE times over the period of a few months. NO ONE ever called me back. Eventually the groupon expired and there was nothing I could do. This place in INCREDIBLY unprofessional- please steer clear.

I purchased my coupon from living social. On Saturdays, they only had availability 6 months out. the morning of my appointment they cancelled that the massage therapist had called in sick and they had to reschedule me. Since they did not call me, i emailed and called to reschedule. It took me 2 weeks to get somone to reschedule and they could only do it 1 month out. Well i finally made it to my appointment. They had me wait for 45 minutes since another massage therapist called in sick according to one person, then another excuse was that they were running late. i was still ok with the excuses, but when it was time to get the massage, i turned the lights on and the massage tables were DISGUSTING. i asked them to change the sheets, they were still FILTHY. I refused to lay on the sheets and lost my money since the coupon expired, but it was not worth catching any desease Health control for desease need to inspect this place. If you go there, turn the lights... good luck

Had good/bad experience with Atlanta Institute on Andrew Dr. Got a Groupon called several times to obtain an appointment. At appt. Ms.Yves Gray was extremely pleasant. We were then treated to Reiki a little confusing and a couples massage the best I have ever had. It was so good had friends flying in from Phoenix, who were going to get massages. The only problem was the bathroom floor was grimey.Suggested a natural cleaning solution, told to leave my card, Dana would contact me; never happened. Week after our massage received a call regarding booking another appointment. We booked May 2 at noon, this our 45th anniversary present. We weren't asked to prepay. March 25 found out we would be gone May 2nd so tried to change the appointment, tried for a week. April 2, I got through told was told Dana was out, would call me on April 3, 2013, didn't happen. Called April 4,11:50, expressed my dismay. Told she could help, tried to resched. told I needed to prepay. Asked to talk to Dana put on hold 5 min. Dana gets on said need to prepay asked why this wasn't expressed prior told she was busy would call back in 10 min. I called back 2 hr told she didn't have time. Asked to talk to corporate put on hold 15 min then hung up on. DO NOT FREQUENT THEY OBVIOUSLY DON'T NEED FIXED INCOME RETIRED PEOPLE. CUSTOMER SERVICE BELOW POOR

There are only two massage therapist there and am quite sure they are not certified. I left in pain. My girl paid for their hot stones service. The therapist treated the stone as if it were a bar of soap and tried to scrub her. The reiki treatment was laughable. Overall, save your money and go elsewhere.

Worst place , EVER! Takes forever for someone to answer the phone and Dana, main receptionist is beyond rude. She puts you on hold every chance she gets, is argumentative and actually hung up on me. Managers are never available, how convenient! I had a groupon that I was going to use but Dana could not come up with any appt times for the groupon. She tried to make me add on all kinds of services and would interrupt multiple times when I tried to explain I only wanted what the groupon was for. Then the day of service my appt was canceled due to the therapist calling out sick, an hr and half bf with a respiratory infection. I'm sorry, but If you have a respiratory infection you would call out of work in the morning. So I am attempting to get refund from groupon and ask them not to do further business with this horrible place.

Absolutely worthless, unavailable, condescending, unapologetic staff. Mandatory upcharge for aromatherapy that I did NOT get (even though I was told that "everyone who walks through this door gets aromatherapy". So, why is it an upcharge and optional with reiki, then?). They were late and I was cut WAY short for it. My "15 minute reiki session" took LITERALLY 3 minutes and consisted of the receptionist who did my "reiki", failing to ask if it was ok to touch me and then telling me "I didn't feel anything except a little tension in your neck so stretch that out". Aside from that being utterly unprofessional... I was so distraught and tense that day that my boss sent me home from work. Reiki master, my tail. The manager was ABSOLUTELY USELESS and argumentative. Called me a liar about my start time as I showed her on my phone that I was speaking to her receptionist well after they said my massage started. No offer to make amends. Also, I saw at least 5 different people in that tiny office and yet I had to call SIX times to get someone on the phone for directions they couldn't help with. Ridiculous. The only saving grace was my massage therapist, Christa (I think). She was fantastic. I only hope she finds a job with a more worthy business. They do her NO justice. By far and away the WORST experience I've ever had. Please do NOT waste your money on this pathetic excuse for a business.

The massage Torria did on my husband was GREAT! He even talked about it on our flight to Canada. However, Austin was HORRIBLE. Im a Physical Therapist & he didn even know NONE of the muscles I asked him to work on. I even started naming random muscles on purpose just to see if he knew them and guess what? He didnt!! He hurt me so bad that I had a bruise from him mashing on my BONES instead of the MUSCLES. He cant possibly be a trained, licensed Massage Therapist. Judging by the reviews on here and Yelp I wouldnt be surprised if she is hiring unlicensed therapist. When I get back in the U.S. Im calling the state boards to investigate this place.

If I could give it a 0, I would. I never write bad reviews, but this company earned one. First of all they have horrible massage tables. I had to hold my head rest during the massage so that it wouldn't come out. Not very relaxing to say the least. Then the costumer service is non existent. They will NOT return your calls. I had to call my credit card company to dispute their charges. I paid for a deep tissue massage and it was not. They never got back to me after I left 5 or so messages. It's a shame because this is a energy healing facility. I used to live in LA and have had many wonderful experiences with energy healing. However, they practice bad energy. If they don't get a handle on their costumer service, I don't know how they can call themselves "Energy Healers". Do not walk, RUN from this company!

My Therapist was Toria Paris. She was absolutely the best Massage Therapist Ive ever had. She took the time to listen to my needs and even worked out kinks in my shoulders and neck that no MT could do. I will be going back and booking with her only!

Don't go to this place...Bad Buy with Groupon. It is impossible to make an appointment. When you call the machine says to make the appointment online. When you go online, the website say to call to make the appointment. These people never call you back. It's been a month since I paid for two massages, up till now I haven't gotten a call or an appointment made. If this is what I have to go through now i would not want to see the actual service. I cancelled. I do not recommentd.
