Poor service, 5/01/2015

4-30-15: This issue occured over the course of April 2015. I will give their single tech some credit- He knows what he is doing. BUT, he is the ONLY tech there at this time which makes it near... impossible for him to get cars done with any speed. I had to have my trans completely rebuilt in Florida and there was an issue with it. I brought the car into this location as it is the closest to work and home for me. This was within a week of having the trans completely rebuilt. I have dropped it off and had to pick it up over the course of 4 weeks (each time they have had the car for 3+ days and they never worked on it any of these times). Each time I have left the car I have had to be the one to contact them to ask for updates. I never get calls from them with any sort of updates and I feel like they just do not have time to care. The first time I got a call from this show was when I finally left a 2 star review. This is when they told me just tome get the car and they did not want to deal with my car. I spent $2600 with Aamco and I feel like they just do not care at all about it. I will be taking the issue up to the corporate level but since each shop is independent all I can say is that this location needs to be avoided.

Fair Warning, 4/06/2015

March 2015 - I had to go back to this Aamco location after they rebuilt my transmission because both the dealer, two AutoZones, and an Aamco shop in Marietta informed me of a converter code that kept... popping up. My rebuild was a couple of months inside the warranty and a couple of thousand miles outside the warranty. The Aamco shop in Marietta called the Main Street Woodstock Aamco owner and told him that he should honor the warranty, and fix or replace the converter. The Woodstock Aamco owner put up a fight for a couple of weeks and I didn't want to go back there, but the Aamco shop in Marietta encouraged me because it would be a warranty repair, or else they would represent me to Aamco Corporate against the Main Street Woodstock location. So I went. Main Street Aamco kept my car for several days, the owner never called me during that time, and when I called him, the owner played dumb about the whole thing, like it was the first time he heard of the issue. The Main Street Woodstock owner said that he hadn't had a chance to look at it but would do so now. He called back and said nothing was wrong with it, there were no codes and I could come get the car. The next morning I pulled out of my garage and saw large amounts of transmission fluid on the floor. You do the math. Of course, I did not go back to the Main Street Woodstock Aamco location to do the repair.

Will rob you!

Sent daughters car to this shop. I agreed to a $550 charge for removal, dis-assembly and inspection of the transmission. When I called them back they stated that they were sourcing parts and could not give me a total estimate for the repair until they got all the prices. I called them back a couple days later to find out what the price was and they told me that the car was repaired and that I owed them $1883. I never authorized the repair. The repair exceeded the blue book value of the car. The "guy" I talked to on the phone offered to put the defective parts back in the transmission and give me the car back. The repairs were substandard. The transmission had leaks, and shudder on forward engagement. I would not recommend this franchise location to anyone. They are a bunch or cheaters and liars, that do substandard repairs for a premium price.

A total Cheat

Never go to this shop, the owner is a total fraud and a cheat, I got my transmission done here and it broke within a month. They even charged me more than they quoted. I had a hard time getting them to fix it again and once they did it broke down again within a month. Never go to this location ever.

A shop you can trust

I was having problems with my car not shifting properly. I bought this Toyota from Carl Black as a used car. Since they don't repair Toyotas they told me to bring it to the Aamco on Main Street in Woodstock. They send all their foreign cars there for transmission work. I can see why. They are courtious, fast and very reasonable. They gave me the Carl Black price. I couldn't be more pleased. A shop where a female can be right at home, Kerry

great experience

I never thought one repair shop would refer me to another, but that is what happened. I took my car to a local shop and they checked it and said they thought it was my transmission but that was all they could tell me. I asked them who could answer my questions and they said this AAMCO. I took my car in and in about an hour they told me what the problem was and what they needed to do to fix it. $300. and 1 day later got my car back and it works great. I will visit them with all my automotive repairs and services in the future.

Great Experiance

No one likes to have a transmission problem and you know they are going to be expensive. Luckily my car was still under an extended warranty. I had no clue about transmissions or dealing with the warranty company and they guys at AAMCO said they would take care of everything. My transmission was completely rebuilt and the car runs great. You don't realize how sluggish a transmission is until you get a new one. Great service and you never feel like you are being taken advantage of.

Great Experience

Just love this transmission shop. Called about my tranmission acting up and talked to Dan the manager. He was very up front with me and said I needed to come in for a diagnostic. Transmission was bad in my honda so they had to rebuild it. They had a problem getting a part for it but Dan called and let me know it would take a little longer because of the part issue. Work was completed and the transmission works great. They even offered me an extended warranty that I could come in and pay for later if I wanted. Super nice guys and a great experience.

Helpful, Honest, and Easy to Work With

After my normal maintenance guys recommended that I see a transmission shop, I was skeptical. Usually a referral to an expert means more money than in my car repair budget. But the guys at AAMCO were honest, upfront with what was going on, and fixed my solenoid in record time. After I questioned if something else was wrong, they let me bring it back the next day and looked it over for me to find that a minor tweak was required. And they did it for no charge. I highly recommend them!!!

Highly recommended

The folks at Carmax recommended this Aamco because they do their transmission warranty work. I can't tell you you how releived I was to talk to Russell the center manager. He took the time to explain the whole diagnostics process. The diagnostics were free. No Charge! Unfortunatly my Honda Transmission was toast. They drove me home, paid the tow bill, rebuilt the transmission, gave me fast service and charged me a very reasonable price. This is the place I recommend for any vehicle problem. Shawn Harp

A transmission shop you can trust

I have an older car that my mechanic said needed a new transmission. I looked on line and found a transmission shop nearby. Again I was told I needed a new transmission. I decided to trade the car for something newer. Unfortunatly the used car lot wouldn't give me anything for it. The car salesperson suggested AAMCO Transmission on Canton Hwy in Woodstock. They bring all their transmission problems to them and they are good people to deal with and you can trust them. I did and they repaired my transmission at a very reasonable cost and did it quickly ( two days ) I will send everyone there. You will love those people. My car is paid off, no payments and works fine thanks to AAMCO Woodstock / Kennesaw.

Free Diagnostics ( Really )

I heard Neal Bortz on the radio say if your check engine light is on, take it to Aamco. I mentioned the ad to my friend at work. He said the Aamco Kennesaw / Woodstock had worked for his neighbor's truck and they were pleased with their service. After Chris the senior diagnostics technician found a blown fuse, replaced it and now my tranny works fine. AND NO CHARGE! I'll recommend them every time, Shawn Harp

Honest and Trustworthy

Like most people I was apprehensive about taking my car to a transmission repair shop. The first time I met Ronny, the manager, I had a good feeling about him. My first impression proved to be true. The service was top notch, professional and best of all there were no hidden surprises. In fact my bill was less than originally quoted. My transmission hasn't worked this well in a long time. I would highly recommend Ronny and his technical team to anyone in need of transmission repairs.

I not only received the best service I have had in an automotive shop but I got a military discount as well. Nice folks that are former Marines and appreciate service personel. Price was fair and treated great!

The guys at AAMCO are all great - Ken, DeeDee & Ronny. Need more like them in the business. Great Job.
