David Lee came out on July 7 to do an inspection and tune-up on our air conditioner, which had developed a loud rattle. He spent 15 minutes looking at the outside unit, and then informed me that the condenser was going bad and these vibrations were causing the fan to rattle. He moved some parts around inside the unit to lessen the noise. Lee never asked to look at the rest of the unit and did no further inspection, so basically he charged me $79 to jiggle the fan in the outside unit. Then he told me that someone from his office would call early the next week to let me know the cost of a replacement condenser. More than a week has passed, and no one has called with a price. I certainly won't have anyone from this company replace the condenser because they don't seem to know what they are doing.

Sorry about the late reply on your post. We at Ace & A Heating and Air Conditioning take our customers concern very seriously. We try to meet all the demands of our business and sometimes we will fall short on someones expectations...hopefully one day you will give us the opportunity to improve our relationship with you.
Please be aware of this company. I did not have good experience with this company... It seems rip-off to me when I checked with other company's price, practice and customer care.

My A/C was working fine but hadn't been serviced in a couple years so I wanted some preventative maintenance. Their prices were fair and I know other people who used them with good results. After scheduling the appointment I thought the tech would check pressures/add freon, inspect the unit for rust/dust/loose wiring and clean the fins. He showed up but didn't introduce himself nor did he know what he was there to do. I asked him if he wanted to check the inside unit first and he started to until he found out it was in the attic at which point it no longer needed to be checked "as long as I changed the filter recently." He went outside and connected his gauges which showed slightly under full pressure. He then banged his hand on my unit and said, "this thing sure is a piece of crap". I said "I said it has given us no problems over the years and is still working well". He told me it was really a piece of garbage and that he could replace it for $5500. I told him that I wasn't going to replace a perfectly functioning unit and he then said he could replace just the outside unit for only $3600. I passed. I asked him to top off the freon anyway which he did grudgingly. He then started rambling about how he liked to shoot the freon tanks with a .45 to watch them explode (freon kills the ozone layer plus now I'm sure this guy is crazy). When I went to pay, I asked him which credit cards he took to which he said "I'll take a check-credit cards are too much hassle."

I had Ace & A come check my my air conditioner that wasn't working, and was told it would cost over $1200 for a new unit. After paying the $60 service fee for them coming out, I checked the circuit breaker and saw that it was off. They would have charged me over a thousand dollars to replace a unit that just needed the power turned on to it.

We awoke to our fire alarms going off and thought our house was on fire. The FD came and discovered that something had blown on our furnace and sent smoke through the house. My husband call Ace & A at 8:00 am and they said they would be at our house between 9:00am and noon. The technician arrived around 9:00am and had the problem diagnosed and the solution quoted by 9:15am. He said he could fix it that day but needed to get the part. He said he would be back by noon. He returned and was done with the job by 11:30am. I was impressed by the fact that they stood by their word, met every deadline they set, and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. I would refer anyone to them and will use their service again.

Most people spend the majority of their day indoors where the air quality can be less than stellar. No wonder people go outside to "get some fresh air." While it's true that outdoor air quality can be poor in areas of high pollution, dust, and pollen, outdoor air is generally better than indoor air. The air inside a building or home can have a myriad of problems with it. Think about it; the air...Read more »
