Stay Away from Ackerman Security
I am a 12 year old customer of Ackerman. Several months ago my system received damage due to a lightning strike outside my home. I have tried for several months to get Ackerman to make repairs. I have even tried emails. They either don't return my calls or in one case I made an appointment and they never showed up and never called. The only thing they seem able to do is send me a bill for monitoring. I am outraged by the conduct of this company. Buyers beware!

Very, Very Pleased!
I recently had an Ackerman security system installed in my home. My salesman, David, was a pleasure to work with and I got a great deal. The installer was on time, worked quickly and was very friendly. I set the alarm off by accident the other day and the gentleman who responded was all businessmaking sure I knew my password and that all was alright. I appreciated his professionalism as it demonstrated that they take their business seriously. I would highly recommend Ackerman Security.

Never an issue
I recently switched my monitoring to Ackerman and have no plans to change. I was very pleased with the professional sales representative (JW Bampton) and the installation technician who came to my home. My husband travels frequently, so I need a company I can rely on. My former monitoring service didn't even know who I was when I called them from my house number. The switch was seamless and easy. Thank you, Ackerman and Mr. Bampton!

Very poor service!
If all you have is monitoring requirements, they are cost-effective. If you have ANY kind of service need, prepare yourself for significant sticker shock. 4 service calls required over the course of two years. The last and most egregious of the service calls was to repair equipment damaged by lightning. Initial estimate was $1000 and we were asked to sign off on proceeding with the work. Final bill was $2000. A number of parts were replaced. I understand and am OK with a mark up on these parts but a quick search on web can give you an average cost for all the parts which are off-the-shelf and readily available. Ackerman marked each and every part up 3-6x. (A $50 keypad is marked up to $240 for instance.) I have called 3 times this week and politely asked for someone to call me back to discuss. 5 days later and no returned call. Frustrating to say the least.

Best Security Provider
I've had Ackerman Security for over 2 years now and have always received great service. From day one, the sales consultant, Bill Holman, was very friendly and informative. He helped us pick out a system that worked for our home at a reasonable cost. The monitoring center always calls us promptly. We had a problem with our phone line and even though Ackerman was not responsible for the repair, they sent a techician out and the problem was corrected. If you are considering a new alarm system, I would highly recommend choosing Ackerman Security.
