Drug Addiction (Crack Cocaine), 10/24/2012

Due to a very traumatic childhood at a young age, and violence in my life, I took the path of illegal drugs (crack Cocaine). I hurt everyone that I loved and hurt myself most of all. From the age of... 20 to the age of 32, it was jails, rehabs and ultimately prison. After prison, I met Danny Jackson in the wellness program. In all of the years and programs I have been in, there was never, ever anybody that got through to me like Danny Jackson did. Teaching me how to work the steps, teaching me to think before I acted and emotionally helping me. Keep in mind I also wanted the change. After the year program, my life started to flourish. Some of the old people that I had hurt started coming back into my life. I also met my beautiful wife, Bernadette. Because of the changes that I had made within myself and that Danny helped me with, she was able to see who I really was. Now I am proud to say I am five years sober but still maintain the discipline that Danny instilled in me. Now I own my own home, five acres of land and I am an official Nashville Recording Artist. Singing and making it sober. On my first album "Driven", the song Wake Up and Smell the Whiskey pertains to the life that so many people have had addiction problems. But with the right people, and it only takes two, you and the person you find a real connection with. Mine was Danny Jackson. God Bless and thanks for your time. Shon Cagle
